he had such incredible control of rubato. Sadly lacking in polish, likely he had little practice and had to 1 take it. Too bad literally every single pianist that has attemped to play this piece is seemingly utterly incompetent at rubato and cannot fathom playing this piece even remotely well.
Well, thanks for sharing. But I think it´s not a Scriabin´s interpretation. At his time there was no piano rolls at all. But if you want, you can find here in RU-vid chanel the real Scriabin´s performance of the etude in d sharp minor op.8 no.12. Great performance by the great artist!

Wow that was horrible.... Yes, I actually can play this better than this. Something has to have gone wrong with the piano roll 'cause this was just nasty.
I think the piano roll is hindering a lot of melodic interpretations here :( Some of the inner melody isn't being brought out as clearly...I wish we had better recording capabilities back then!
This really sounds like jazz. Could hear Art Tatum playing this… incredible stuff. Scriabin exploration of the circle of fifths, chord extensions, and chord substitutions is insane
It is not just jazz, it’s Gershwin and his own genius. A music style like no other, but the composer was quite underrated for what he really brought to music…
@@Dylonely42It’s definitely jazz, and he was definitely influenced by jazz. A study of his life and career shows that early jazz had a huge influence on him, and many of his compositions are straight jazz, while his most famous ones blend jazz elements with classical elements.
@@allegroaffettuoso9012 I never said that it wasn’t jazz, but it’s a fond of mixature with jazz and classical music elements. It’s definitely not just straight jazz.
В душу запал 12 этюд Скрябина!/ Слушаю его в исполнении далёких и близких/ Горовица, Мацуева, Султанова./ И, наконец -то, браво, браво маэстро Владимир Софроницкий!!!
For all those who hate this recording, this is not a recording of Scriabins playing, it's a piano roll, it does not capture every aspect of Scriabins playing, I bet if there exists a recording(a real recording) it would be drastically different.
Idk if you have heard it, but Horowitz had committed the greatest crime: playing this piece so well that other performances are unlistenable in comparison. It really doesn’t get better than that
this music needs rubato it's not always of metronome. The expression is in the tempo and in the moment when you play it, the present. But to learn it's okay, to performance not really
