Hi! I also encountered the problem that quest2 cannot pair with the mobile app after restoring it to its original settings. I was originally going to try the method in this video. But it seems I don't need it anymore. Let me share my solution: 1. First delete the meta app and data on your phone and shut it down. 2. Restore your quest2 to its original factory settings. and enter the pairing screen. 3. Turn on your phone and connect to the same wifi as quest2 and turn on Bluetooth, then reinstall the App and give it all phone permissions. Press pair again. If there are no accidents, you can pair normally here.
Thanks, it works for me. But at the cost of the headset saying that it's not setup while purchasing something and it not appearing on the meta quest account devices list. Also phone pairing doesn't work in any way, so MQDH is useful to atleast get the headset not being a total paperweight. is there a workaround for this or did it work for you with the device present on the account management?
The only way I've found to buy apps after this is to buy them on the meta web store. Then it will allow you to download the app in the headset. I'm currently giving this another look to see if I can fix the root of the problem but I really think it's caused by corrupt data in the meta database.

Glad it worked for you! Some have commented that it doesn't work but I think you just have to try a few times and also turn Bluetooth off and on a few times on the computer.
I tried the developers hub and everything. Heres my story. One day my fb was gettick hacked so i changed the password to my fb account and signed out of every device that had my fb account signed into (Was probably my ex gf getting into my fb and being a nuisannce). Well after that happened a few days later i turn my headset on. It took me to the pairing screen. Couldnt reconnect my meta account to app. At all. Even when i turn bluetooth on my phone and try to pair it to the headset the headset doesnt exist. It doesnt even get picked up when trying to bt pair it to my phone or laptop. Nothing pops up at all. So now im stuck. I cant even pair it using the developers hub. I had a developers account and everything before all this stuff happened. And now even this video doesnt help. I even tried a link found in reddit which took me to youtube basically explaining everything you just said but with more detail and it didnt work idk what to do anymore honestly. What would really help is a video explaining how to turn bluetooth on. (On the headset) while your stuck in the pairing number screen. I tried factory resetting the headset and deleting the meta app and reinstalling it. Nothings working even sidequest.

I have tried soo many different things, and to highlight this and to make sure people save time and just follow your video, i'll list them below. - uninstalling the app and doing this on multiple phones - I have reset my Quest prob around 10 times and still no phone will pair. - I tried mobile roaming on both phones incase - Tried turning off and on Bluetooth - Tried restarting router multiple times Your method worked 100% as of the 05/03/2024 Lucky RU-vid brought me here. But i have a question. I am still within my warranty and have been offered to send it for repairs/replacement. My concern is this - Seeing how common this seems to be, would it be better to keep it or go down the road of repair/replacement. Because no one at support suggested what you did. I'm trying to work out logically if it's the phone app to blame or the Quest. I have tried the Quest app on the phone using a APK from 2023 but the problem is still there. I may try a 2022 version of the app.
Mine is weird it connects to my phone on the app but when i log into my quest account on safari it says i have no device connected so im stuck on the pairing screen with the code anyone know a fix?

Hi, I have tried this the devolper app still shows device locked.. :( any thoughts on that or how to get around it. I am very frustrated with the headset not pairing.
Been struggling for a month! Did the factory reset several times and was messing with Meta support for a while until they basically said, warranty expired out of luck - buy a new or refurbished one. Really? Somebody needs to tell these dummies about this. Once I created my account I did have to search for the download as I couldn't find it intuitively. Then I was able to get it and BOOM, pairing solved!
AMAZING!! This worked perfectly. I had tried all the other steps of factory reset, sideload booting to flash firmware, pairing with multiple devices, etc. and nothing worked. Loaded developer hub and our Quest 2 was working again within a few minutes. You're awesome!

thank you my friend broke his controller and he was trying to setup a meta quest profile so he borrowed my brothers right controller then it happend to my brother and he doesnt know but this saved not onlly one quest but 2 because my other brother got itt too
This works amazing thank you. Sadly when i tried to remove my headset on the devices page it worked, but my headset still wouldnt pair, now i get a device indentity errror when trying to add accounts and i cant make calls with people app, only whatsapp vr and messenger vr. Hopefully they fix this pairing issue soon.
@@joeshummeroffroad hopefully, ive tried contacting meta support and i was offered a replacement however my vr still works fine so i declined. I think when the pairing error gets fixed my issues in headset will go as my headset will be added back to my account
I just installed a 330 watt Solar Panel on the roof of my 2006 H3 (no Sun Roof ) 5 speed manual transmission, and bought a SUV Tent for the rear hatch (might have to modify it a little with the hatch that opens horizontally but I'll make it work !) I'll be headed out towards Arizona and Colorado for a few months in a few weeks ! I have a 100 Amp hour LiFePo4 battery box with a 200 watt inverted that will run my 12 volt 25quart fridge and my Electric Mattress pad when needed...the Solar panel will recharge my battery box when I am not traveling. Colman Stove etc. Rear seats have been removed and I will be pulling out the passenger seat just before I head out. I'm a 77 year old Disabled Vietnam War Veteran and a Retired US Over the Road trucker ! *FJB !*
