I've watched this video at least 50 times and I'm still amazed by it. GWR Branch has always been a favorite of mine. It's simple and slow, just a calm and steady journey.

Yes, I do have a lineside permit but because of the NYMR's conservation policy now, the plant growth at the sides of the track is so overgrown now that it is difficult to get far enough away from the rail to get decent shots so I'm considering using public locations in the future to get some wider shots.
Hi, the Pangolin Photo Safari was incredible, the best I have ever been on and I would be reluctant to go on different safaris in the future. There were a few other boats on the Chobe when I was there in January/February but it certainly wasn't busy and they didn't cause any issues with us photographing.
For most of the week I was there the weather was very sunny. Despite it being the so-called 'wet' season it only rained once for about 10 minutes during the whole week so the viewing and photography were not affected. According to the guides, when it does rain it is quite intense but very short lived.
J'aime les vielles locomotives aux fumées blanches qui avancent à l'allure d'un pas humain car on a le temps d'admirer le paysage sans se fatiguer .! Mais chevaucher les fenêtres pour se rafraîchir les gambettes est très particulier à votre pays . Ce serait interdit en France . De toute façon il nous reste que très très peu de ce genre de train qui ne sont considérés que comme des trains de plaisance entretenus par d'anciens mécaniciens . Ici , c'est plutôt la folie de la grande vitesse qui est cependant très pratique pour les longues distances . Progrès oblige !!! 😊

Of course, I am so proud to have had the privilege to have been able to travel to school on the Toy Train. A very interesting video. This amateur blogger revealed an interesting history of the place, and a wealth of information obtained from the staff. I never realised that this place existed until I joined the 5711 team.

People in india are really risk takers. Those two men sitting at the front of train seem not afraid that there can be an accident in which they might fall on the tracks and the train might crush them.
What a lovely video Peter. Just rode the DHR from NJP to Darjeeling. It was an experience out of some fairy tale book. The Rang Tong station was amazing. It suddenly appears after a curve like magic. Tindharia is where the UP train says "Hi" to the DOWN one. The loops, Z reverse, overlap of the Hill Cart Road, I have never experienced anything like this before, boy Sheldon Cooper would have loved this ride 😊. Each station in this route is mesmerizing. The Mahanadi, Sonada and Tung on the road, the reverse of Kurseong, the Batasia loop guarding the Gorkha memorial in the backdrop of Kunchenzonga, the summit at Ghoom finally resting at Darjeeling and last but not the least, Sukna where the climb starts. Each moment of that journey flashed before me via this video. Thanks so much for this.
I went to Darjeeling twenty five years ago. At a Tibetan, New Year party, my vegan wife inadvertently drank brandy out of a human skull that was also used in ceremonies involving semen and menstrual blood, and I got to tell her. That was the best day of our marriage!
I've done that journey. It might have been a interesting to see the view from the train and the places the train passed through, instead of just seeing the train.
