Thankyou so much for your service and message of hope. I am a regular listener and you ground me on a daily basis. Thankyou for being there for all of us. You are beautiful loving people.
Thank you Peter for allowing God to work through you. Amazing share if you know any sponsors out in Oregon who can get me pointed in this direction let me know.
That helped me so much,7 years without a drink but old resentments have come back to haunt me.currently doing step 4 again with a new sponsor but that talk was solid gold.❤
This was ALL erasure of the very real issues of Racism , White Supremacy that is baked into the Privileged men who created this program. The way all these speakers used sameism. NOT cool, this is BS! All of it. ColorBlind Racism is still racism. What acceptance is in Print is NOT in the actions of this Fellowship. Especially for us that live in Predominantly white areas . NO covert "White Supremacist" AA has used these steps to acknowledge MY EXPERIENCE and or made amends to address their Covert Racism. I've heard racist jokes from old timers, I've been made the aggression one in business meetings, and had White Women tears and been dog piled on during any conflict. The discrimination/ implicit bias of not being able to have a full rounded experience as a Black Alcoholic with my experience. Get outta here. This was so disappointing. Ugh ...wtf. I am not going to self-blame "my part" that is not mine in racism within the fellowship of alcoholics anonymous. The fourth step helps me to acknowledge my part, also helps me to acknowledge to not self-deprecate myself with taking all parts, especially in matters of RACISM!!!! Granted this means that I have a different experience, a few more challenges and pathways through these 12 steps / traditions . but I still keep on coming back. because this program keeps me sober/recovery as an alcoholic ,but there's no way I'm going to erase the real issues of racism within the program of AA. And these people not addressing it, not updating the literature to bring equality within a Alcoholic Anonymous.
I've heard a few of Bob's "Speaker Tapes"... This is one of his best--he has a simple, funny & practical message about AA Recovery. "Get up in the morning--go to work--stay at work--work at work." I need to hear this over & over, because l forget it for some reason!😅
I spent over 20 years dying inside trying to survive in a one sided fellowship. NO message that included a solution. Now I was to come across BB meetings and have found the solution. 🙏🏽
i love this share and has helped me so much and i follow her and is growing with her as she tells how she claims spritual progress that never ends, its all in aplications that we recover, and letting go and not hangingn onto things, thank you
Discovered (was given?) this ESH share not long ago and am very grateful. Although I am a man and am working the Steps in a different fellowship, my sick soul resonates strongly with what Bitty shares regarding selfishness, and fears, and the life-giving nourishment offered in our Twelve Step programs. And Higher Power gets all the glory! Thank you, Bitty, for sharing.
Wow…there was no blame in my speaking…I have been expressing my experience…wow… ..a go-go dancer 🤣 Oh my goodness…where do I express what is in me to express when there is no choice to have it privately like each one of you have the opportunity to do?
Bob D is awesome! The format of this is kind of weird though! It seems like the recording cuts some parts out and replays others… it’s 11 hours long, so it’s hard to tell where that happens. Anyone else experiencing this? Not trying to build up a resentment against RU-vid 😂
