I wouldve loved to see how Bolo would have done against these two. Im also glad this show isnt just Ah Sahm vs [enter next challenger]. Theres actually fights between other people
I think everyone agrees, Bolo died way to early. I assume even the show runner/head writer (Jonathan Tropper) knew he was a great character... but when your in production, you can't really change a whole script that hard, y'know? I also agree with how its not just Ah Sahm vs next opponent. This is where TRUE writing comes into play. Sure, this show is foremost an action show. But its writing is honestly, quite extraordinary in it's execution. Watching the show have different gangs and races (different Tongs, Irish gang, the cops) and how early on they are mostly their own storylines, but by season 2 all these different gangs and affiliates all bleed into each other and multiple storylines all bleed into a main plot. That is *not* something that is easy to write. Even the fact that we as an audience, LOVE Li Yong... Ah Sahm's (OUR PROTAGONIST) literal #1 opponent. Maybe that's just Joe Taslim's charisma? But I like to think its a mix of again, the writing and acting.
This was Ah Sahms personal redemption. After getting his ass whooped by Li Yong in s1 he finally almost completely perfected his technique, and uses it against Leary.
When it comes to fighting, yeah, most definitely. But when it comes to acting? Well, McGregor is a shit actor. The only reason we like Leary as an anti-hero is because of how good Dean Jagger plays the role.

This is a lame fight! If it was realistic ah Sam being a experienced bare knuckle fighter he would’ve used the head butt when Leary was punching to break his hands and not get hurt himself. He would’ve won not Leary. Stupid plot armor! 🤦🏻♂️
Ah Sahm does win the fight. I'm not sure if your mixing up the fighters? Regardless--this was a fight of big dick energy. It wasn't about skill, it was who could doll out the harder hits and take the harder hits. This was a fight for respect, not skill. Go back to Thunder Gun Dolph, your drunk.

Honestly, I have before. But it seems those ones get ripped off of youtube for copyright strikes. Most of my videos have small cuts/edits (I TRY to hide them, but they are obvious if your not even paying attention/a huge fan of the show). I think this is one of the few that I didn't edit that only got demonitized (which, is fine. I never monetized any of these videos anyways). I will look into it though, I have been wanting to rip my blu-rays to a hard drive and reupload the scenes in better quality. Any scenes in particular you are looking for? (I only have season 1+2 on bluray atm).
Good fight, but not necessarily accurate to how things would go. The British and Americans basically invented ground and pound. If the American wasn't in it for the sport, he would just turn it into a catch wrestler beat down and then the other guy is screwed.
Is this show really worth my time? Because this fight scene was *highly* enjoyable. I did also see the scene where Leary took out a small party of idiots in a bar.

"Do you have any children, Leary?". This was the best and most provocative line to me. He addressed Leary by his name, implying they are equals, then asks about having kids, which Leary once had 2 boys and both had died. It was like throwing a combo of punches without fighting.
