I Love this it makes a lot more sense than having a female Michael which to me makes no sense someone will need to explain this to me because the main two leads for francesca's story are both men. I haven't read her book yet and this doesn't make sense so yeah.
Love this, would have been the PERFECT person to play that role. I’m so sad they screwed this up, but if only your excellent reimagining were real. Again LOVE this!
God gave Catherine 6 Children but took 5 of them in his Kingdom. Mary was a gift from God and Henry conpletely wasted her. He divorced his wife and seperated Catherine and Mary. He was never a good father and husband and he is for sure not a man of God.
I need more scenes of them and can they just change the story a bit and let them have their wedding 😭 ugh I can’t get this attached this story is just nothing but pain
O gosh, I was waiting for Jace/Baela edit since 2x02 and checking few times - why this edit did not show when I was typing couple name?!!! 🤩🤩 They are perfect together - Baela is such sweetheart, so supportive of Jacaerys since they were 10 ❣💕💕💕💞🥺🥺
Tbh they could have made michaela be a good character too if fran didn't fall for her when she was still with john. But no cuz they gotta fuck up my favourite couple, bacause john and francesca can't be just happy together and in love in a calm way, because according to the writers that's not real love.
I have been thinking a lot about that controversy. If you read comments from all over the fandom in different parts of world, there is consensus around Eloise. Most people say they expected Eloise to have a queer romance. Alternatively they could live with a queer Eloise. Even a lesbian commenter responded to me that Eloise is "coded" as queer. Okay, then. Why didn't the showrunners go with Eloise and let the fans keep Michael. They knew and anticipated a huge backlash, but the still went for Francesca. Why? Honestly, I don't know why the showrunners sabotaged Francesca and John in the end. I call it their driveby shooting. In her statement that she posted on Instagram Julia Quinn said she told the showrunners to preserve Francesca and John'a storyline. But they pooped all over it. The show writers are not incompetent. When they want to, they can write good stories. The original Francesca and Michael love story is one of the most passionate love stories in the Bridgerton canon. Plus the book refers to Michael Sterling, "When He Was Wicked." I think the writers wanted an opportunity to place a woman in a role where she has agency. I also think they want to write a sapphic love story that makes everyone swoon. They want something epic. I think that's why they fixated on Francesca. What is in the showrunner's favor is that most people have not read the books so they are not necessarily bothered by a genderswap. Julia Quinn gave her seal of approval. She has made bank. The series is becoming more well known than the original book series. Her books now have covers reflecting the series. Pretty soon we will have two canon: One based on the book and the other based on the series.
@@gems3604the showrunners just want to do whatever they want. It’s not their story it is someone else’s, but lots of other book adaptions into movies and shows are like this, and the writers and directors of the shows just do whatever they want without the authors consent much of the time.
@@KoolKukumber I just finished a long rant on another forum. Yes, I agree with your observations. But I think it's time for people to push back. And I don't mean yelling and screaming and sending petitions. Why were ratings created? Why were parents constantly monitoring what their children watched? Images, movies, tv they are all extremely powerful. They are powerful because they transmit culture. They also shape the imagination and consciousness. Disney keeps putting out "woke stuff" even thought they have lost hundred of millions of dollars. The Bridgerton showrunner really meant what she said when she announced that she wanted a Bridgerton Queer romance. It is important that a main character be queer. Sure, you could see this as representation. But there are different ways she could have gone about the task of representation. She could have created a new Bridgerton character and introduced a queer romance. But what she decided to do instead was basically cancel the male character who is the inspiration for the book and his narrative and replace it with a woman, and then dare us to say it is not the same thing. I think this more than lazy writing. She is speaking volumes without uttering a word. People understand what is going on and that's why they realize they have to stop watching.
thank you for this beautiful edit! you did such a great job on this and it is much appreciated! they are sooo sweet and in love- just makes my heart smile.
