Hello, my name is Tom Kubis and I am a composer/arranger from Huntington Beach, California. This channel is a mix of different things that I have done with many wonderful musicians.

Oh my gosh! Hi Jim. Long time no see. I haven’t heard updates on your brother. I was just checking on that as well so great to hear your grandson might get you into this crazy hobby! I hope you’re doing well. I’m enjoying retirement but still playing here and there doing gigs anyway great to hear from you and keep me informed of your little hobby. Send me pictures. I’m also at Tomkubis@gmail.com. Or message at 714-883-4221. Take care my friend. Tom.
It’s the Tom Kubis midi big band. Tom plays in all the trumpet and trombone parts with a midi keyboard and midi breath controller. He also plays in the piano, guitar, bass, and drum parts. If you look at the alto and tenor saxophones, you can see the actual wave forms. He digitally records himself playing the soprano, alto, and tenor parts. He has several videos that demonstrate his process using the stock Logic sounds. He’s been doing this for a long time. Just another modern skill a musical genius like Tom Kubis would figure out. I have had the great fortune of performing his original composition and arrangements for over 40 years now. I love his music and this amazing RU-vid channel.
Long time fan, played dozens of your charts in my bands that I had in colleges and professionally. Some of the smoothest craftiest writing around even if it's hard to get your charts sometimes :) can you tell me what program you're using to record with and I know that's a stupid question but I am trying to learn about multi track recording at my house and I'm wondering if this program would work on my computer? And I know that you don't get back that quickly but if you get back to me at all I'll be grateful. I directed the jazz band at Florida Atlantic University from nineteen eighty two to 2000, here is the pro band I led from 1995-2017: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cfzX5byONys.html Retired now, resting shakily on my laurels.
Once my N scale layout gets up and running, I would like to build aquarium cars with water inside clear plexiglass sides sealed on flat cars for my baby crayfish to ride in.
I love watching your videos and seeing how you approach the creative process (and I’m a big fan of the finished product, too). Also, listening to you, you sound like you’d be awesome to hang with. Thank you for your contributions to music.
Happy New Year to you Tom Thanks for all you do, and your music Hope to meet you someday We played six of your tunes at our Christmas show We love your music Maybe next, whole program your arrangements
I'll never forget the guy! He was friends with both my father and uncle. They took me along to say hello to Jack between sets at a matinee at the Lighthouse and Jack bought me my very first shirley temple. (Circa 1966) I got to sit at the bar and everything! It's still my drink of preference. R.I.P.
I love all of these arrangements! Your works ispired me to arrange for big band since I was very young :) Nowdays, I'm not do music for living but I play (bass)trombone, here in Italy, for classical wind bands (and also little bit of jazz big band sometimes) I'd like to listen real trombone's tracks in these videos! If you're interested I can record all four tracks for your next videos for free. Thank you in advance for any response and best regards!
New subscriber alert. ;-) I loved this piece. Listened twice. Very interested in learning more about how you put it together. Best wishes for the channel.
