I met Serj at his Gallery expo in Glendale one night looking at his art and we talked a bit he’s such a chill guy. As an Armenian you get access to SOAD on command 😂😅 great video you guys. Def deserve more views and subs
Great album. Enjoy your discussion and comments. Also, love the addition of the guitar parts (as a guitar player) to this deep dive. Will definitely check out more of your videos! Cheers from Newfoundland Canada
Hi Rob, thanks for for watching. It appears that the RU-vid algorithm isn't really pushing our videos recently (at all). But we are going to keep on doing what we enjoy and hope other people enjoy them too 😁
@@TheMonstersofMetalpod RU-vid algorithms are of course a real problem, maybe when Metallica's Master Of Puppets comes out, then there will be a lot of people, but is so sad, i want more extreme scene as old In Flames, DT maybe old school death metal or Darkthrone for example
Another band from the great white that doesn’t get much mention is Jude The Obscure. What’s wild is I found out about AOF at hellfest 2k2 (?? The first fairgrounds one, the one right after the action sports place where earth crisis had their last show back in the day in 2k1) from Jude the obscures’ vocalist who happened to be there. He had given me a sampler cd with 44 caliber and pulmonary archery I think and told me all about them. Really nice dude, and this was right before they signed with EVR and their s/t record got licensed for the USA.
Thanks for this guys!!! Just saw AOF in their (my) hometown of St. Catharines On. Canada 2 weeks ago. For the born and raised show.Dallas voice just echoed eriely when he sang "Maybe I'm losing my mind"I"ve got some footage on my channel Also going to see them with Blink 182 in Toronto. Will be seeing Billy Talent in 2 weeks in Port Colborne On. Sooo stoked!!
you are right about psycho being a great live song, that added solo they did with the piano was magical... was it big day out?... i can't remember found it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wcFr7_3dDwE.html
Yeh that particular show is a great performance of the song, I remember amongst my friends it was always overlooked because of the 'intro' to it being longer than the other songs and I would constantly fight it's corner. Made even better by the live performances. Great band, great album and great song.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not overly familiar with Blind guardian apart from 'A twist in the myth' which I played over and over, great album. We'll be sure to check out your recommendation 😎
@@TheMonstersofMetalpod twist is a great one, the style of "nightfall in middleearth" is quite different tho, if u are familiar with Tolkiens Works ull like it for sure. Even musically its blind Guardians best Album to stand the test of time in my opinion. Either way keep up ur great RU-vid channel, wish u only the best
The band is not together for multiple reasons I believe across the years. I think firstly there were pay disputes where daaron as the guy who writes the songs + as a band member felt he deserved more money etc. there then was also the fact that I don't think serj ever really wanted to constantly do metal like SOAD and wanted to pursue his own career and music style. Finally I think there are political conflicts where serj is left leaning whilst John the drummer is right leaning, basically they have their own views on which side helps armenians more. In the end they all still love one another as brothers, I mean I think John is married to Serj's sister if I am right? But also with how many years has gone past I don't feel they themselves feel the need to make a new album and this will only grow as more time passes. Daaron himself has used planned SOAD album tracks he wrote in his own band scars on broadway, serj has his own career and shavo has done his own projects
Yeh it all became a blur after they finished their last song haha. We had such a good night. I'm looking forward to the Trivum/BFMV gig next year, the 3 of us back together again.
I don’t know why mutter would be a pro-life life song. Rammstein as a group are very leftist and anti-authoritarian and as such I doubt they would make a song about an authoritarian and socially conservative position like that.
Thanks, a lot of time goes into learning the songs and trying to make the guitar recording sounds as good as we can make it, so we really appreciate that comment.
you guys should definitely react and deep dive into their first album . its great and can also jump into their live performance at lowlands 2001 , great concert
xXx in theaters in 2003 is how I met them.. went directly to buy my first album.. and accidentally bought the Live Aus Berlin instead.. which was actually great, wore that double CD out. That's still the best sound Rammstein ever achieved imo.
Fellas, really enjoyed this. First time seeing you boys and will definitely be back for more. Going to Dresden in a week to see Rammstein launch their summer tour. Can’t wait. Curious… you were mentioning the sampling, and I’ve never heard anyone discuss how the riff in Mutter sounds so much like the one in Metallica’s Unforgiven. At least, that’s what my ear hears. Rock on! 🤘🏻
This is their best album so far of their 30 years of career (1994-present). This is the first album when Till started to sing instead of 'speaking' in the previous 2 albums, and Rammstein finally procuded an album oriented to a metal sound while leaving the synth to add a uniquite atmoshphere to the song. Thirdly, drums' rythms sound smore metal than techno. I used to play this ambum in my discman when I was a teenager, living in Spain 🙂
You what!? You think Rein Raus is one of their worst?! Holy fuck wash your mouth out! You obviously haven’t seen this done at Völkerball yet? Love it! 🤘
This is Rammstein's masterpiece. Not only was this a landmark album for industrial metal, it was for the entire metal genre. The riffs are monsterous, the songs are aggressive, and it spawned arguably what many fans call their best song of their career with Sonne. The first 6 songs are all singles, while Feuer Frei launched them into mainstream metal. For myself, it's incredibly hard to rank Rammstein's albums from second to eighth, because Mutter is - and forever will be - first.
Fantastic reaction spot with musical analysis. Lyrically, maybe you must have grown up here to get them. Little tip the hint about the lyrics meaning is hidden inthe 3rd verse most of the times. I'm not gonna go into details about the meaning of the lyrics. Because Rammstein never reveales much of their meaning of the lyrics. But what I can tell you, that songs like "Mutter", "Dalai Lama" (Reise, Reise album) or "Hilf mir"- help me (Rosenrot album) and other songs have adaptations from Classics of German poetry. Giants like Johann Wolfgang von Goethe for example. But I genuinely enjoyed your musical insights. I have a spare ticket for the show in Dresden on May, 17th. General admission. I will sell it by the end of next week. Until then, if you're interested. Just an offer. Just decided to give you a nugget on the song "Nebel"-mist. In german it's a palindrome. Backwards it reads:"Leben- live"- hence the meaning of the song. Pretty wicked of them to do that, imo.
