In 1982 I worked in the concession stand at a drive-in when I was 15. The projector guy. Show me how to switch over the projectors at the end of the reel when the cigarette Burns comes on.😊
The 1950's episode was originally in color, also. Look for the credit for Pathécolor in the end credits. This was a special episode from the black & white series that NBC filmed and broadcast in color. It was historic, the first filmed network color show. Now exists only in b&w.
This is truly an era that I wished was still around. Watching this brought back so many memories of that yesterday era. I still can remember watching a double feature with my family as a kid back in the day. I remember we watched, Slivious, (I think i spelled it wrong) and the Jeff Bridges movie version of King Kong. I was only five years old at that time, but still remember going to see them at the drive in. It is sad that time in our history is gone, but the memories will last a lifetime. I definitely believe life was much better back then. We were not so divided or angry at each other all the time. Watching this video and that special period in our time, makes me wonder what has happened to us, and the direction we ended up going. Still thank you for posting it was a pleasure to relive some of those golden days from that forgone era.
Thanks for the kind comments. One of my earliest, vaguest memories was being at a drive-in movie while my parents watched 'Jeremiah Johnson'. I spent many a summer night hanging out with friends at the Georgetown Drive-In in southern Indiana. It still exists and I try to visit whenever I'm back home!! One of my favorite moments happened when they had a late night showing, following 'Cowboys & Aliens' (ugh) of an original print of 'American Graffiti'. It's like that movie was made for drive-in viewing. To keep the mood alive... I've recently purchased an outdoor movie screen for my backyard and I always like to kick off the evening with these Drive-In ads.
Excellent rip! Probably the most memorable song in this great movie. For a while we only had the one with SFX on RU-vid so this is a very nice surprise!
❤❤❤ I hope u enjoyed that. Meanwhile, i also tried drive-in cinema in Gold Coast, Australia 2 weeks ago. It was champion ! 🎉 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-526i1YKl0l8.html Share your thoughts 🇦🇺💕
my brother and i were very young and always fell asleep, but not after the 10 minutes to show time reel, it was the best part of going to the drive in to us
Ironically, 0:52 there is a sign with the work budget crashed by a police car. They didn't notice that the Blues Brothers will come to Louisiana to calculate the amount to spend...
0:36 Everyone failing to catch Mizuki and Nana Hayashida after they killed Vin Diesel as payback for making Justin Lin quit from the director's chair in Fast X.
