Stories like this are what I want to see more of. Gordon growing up and becoming a more gentle giant like Henry, mature like Edward and responsible for any given jobs whether coaches or trucks. Basically like his counterpart Big Mac from Tugs.
I always find this concept of the first days of steam to be a fascinating story to be told in the Thomas universe. It’s so easy to look at the diesels taking over as a tragedy as it’s replacing steam… But then you remember steam replace the horses so it kind of recontextualizes everything. After all I can’t help but imagine how this story would be detected if you replace the horse with a steam train and Glynn with someone like class 40
It’s not suppose to represent the TV series. The events of Horrid Lorry happened in 1973 and Ryan was on the island in my series in 1967, all based on my timeline so it makes perfect sense.
Because he had a rebuild in 1973, as mentioned in the Sodor book by the Rev.W.Awdry and my timeline focusing on the 70’s. It wouldn’t make any sense to have Bert as shown in the books and the TV series.
I don’t know if I read the book on this one, but in someway, the title is reminding me of my Thomas & Friends leapfrog activity book. I had a while back.
