I absolutely love everybody continues to underrate a guy like Andy Reid and how much of a critical factor he is to that team. The Chiefs were a joke before Andy got there, But the only problem was they had a real ceiling with Alex Smith as a quarterback. Once Patrick Mahomes took over, sky was the limit. It's been shown that you can have an all-time great quarterback but if your coaching staff is not fully sound then it will still be a struggle. Steve Spagnola is arguably one of the best defensive minds in the league and he isn't going anywhere and that's massive for that Chiefs defense too.
in all honesty none of these sports players are worth this kind of money but if you're good at what you do you're gonna get paid regardless and right now he is good at what he's doing so he got his bag
First qb to hit 30k passing yards with less than 100 ints. Best red zone qb in football. And Throw shade at a superbowl where he played with a broken hand, no cooper kupp and a 1 legged todd gurley.
Gurley was the focal point of that offense, once he got hurt that team was no where near the same. Broken hand or not if he wasn’t well enough to play he wouldn’t nor shouldn’t have been in the game. While that is impressive, does only that warrant being the 2nd highest paid QB in the NFL? (Genuine question)
@@TripleDS Jared Goff is the beat QB in the league last 6 years in most stats. He's elite always has been. Goff played with a broken throwing hand his last year in LA and still took the Rams deep into the playoffs to Lambeau. Jared is clearly a better QB than even Matt Stafford.

if ben johnson leaves the team next year then yes signing goff to a massive contract will have been a mistake. i really do believe ben johnson is the reason the offense has worked so well. not because of goff, amon-ra, or peneii. but because ben johnson figured out how to make this offense work with those players. without him i wouldn't be surprised if the lions don't even win 8 games.

No way did they overpay. Great QB's cost a lot of money. Top 10 paid QBs right now are 55-43 million a year. I'm bias being a Lions fan but I think Goff is a clear top 10 QB in talent. But you can't just put talent in positions, like being a lions fan, I've see so many super stars fail in Detroit. When often have had not only some of the best skill positions in the league but argue best of all time in a few (Megatron, Barry Sanders, Prime Stafford). What makes Goff's salary worth it is he is clearly top ten in skills, but with the Lions, team chemistry, and culture I think he that makes him top 3 in the league. I seriously think you throw who ever you say is the best right now like Patrick Mahomes in as Lions QB he doesn't have the success as Goff does. A huge aspect of what has made the Lions last year is the culture and team around it. And what Goff has done to build that and be apart of it is very significant.
People get awed by his physical gifts and, rightfully so. But a lot of what puts him over the top is his rare intelligence. It gets overlooked, perhaps because of his froggy voice. I don't know. But his ability to see the entire field and anticipate the proper trajectory of each and every player at once is uncanny. When he tucks the ball and run, 90% of the time he's getting the first down simply because he takes the proper angles. He's like Neo in the Matrix. He doesn't have Lamar Jackson's finese and shiftiness and he doesn't have Josh Allen's ability to lower his shoulders and crash into linebackers, but Mahome's always knows where to go when he takes off. Another crazy thing about him is his constant awareness of where the line of scrimmage is. I don't think I've ever seen him flagged for throwing past the line of scrimmage. He may be standing right on it, but never beyond it, despite scrambling around like a madman for several seconds. The kid is a cyborg.
He played with a concussion one year and a high ankle sprain the next. He is crazy motivated to be great. He is very intelligent and isn’t too proud to change his game up to win. Man or zone or blitz his numbers are shockingly good. When he is down in the playoffs, he finds another level of clutch. It is fun to watch even if you’re not a fan of the Chiefs.
