Futurly is the global education platform for architects and designers of all levels. We are creating a network for people pushing the boundaries of what's possible in architecture and design. We are a vibrant community fuelled by workshops, events, courses, and the desire to learn something new, every day.
Our goal is to accelerate the future of architecture and design, one evolutionary step at a time!
Is houdini worth learning for architecture who already has burden of learning grasshopper and bim programs. I mean what extra we get from houdini that satisfied this time investment.
Thank you for sharing such valuable knowledge. Unfortunately, I can't repeat this lesson. I stopped at the very beginning because of a problem with nodes. When I add nodes: Curve Zero Twist, Surface from Curve and Evaluate Surface, the program gives the same errors. The text “No data passed into socket Curves” pops up. Maybe you can tell me what the problem is? Thanks in advance for your answer.
Thank you for the run down of Houdini, very helpful. One thing I am really struggling is recieving architectural models converted from Rhino and not knowing how to setup the model for any sort of motion graphics or simulation work. Any pointers to help out at all?
I've messed a with parametric design but I'm having trouble importing my "experiments" into Unreal Engine 5. UV maps and normals come in all messed up. Any ideas? Thanks.
why after i download the zip file and when i want to install it in blender, the zip file is not there? please help me to solve it bcs it's related to my college assigment ;,(
How do you append the materials.... When I wanted to finally play with the object my MAC M1 started to trumble, so sad lol.... I guess I need equipment more adept to such powerful softwares.
Looks really interesting ! Are the workshop's recordings still available now or only accessible to people that have registered on time ? I tried to make a purchse for "Assembled" and "Intertwined" but get an "something went wrong" error popping.
Arek used Rhino / Grasshopper and Zbrush for this. But you could also make similar things in C4D. It's a bit too deep for a single video, but we've got a C4D workshop opening registrations this April 25th! Feedback noted.
Hi Erindale! This course looks amazing. So you know, this link you posted above now gives a 404. It looks like @futurly_space changed the URL to: www.futurly.com/s/store/courses/description/Blender-Parametric
I'm so fascinated and so intimidated at the same time. It reminds me of college-level mathematics, haha I'm sorry for asking an off topic question, but I'm trying to figure out how to use blender for more basic parametric design. I've been trained in AutoCAD, Inventor, Fusion, and Solidworks, but don't want to pay their price tags for personal use. I downloaded blender, but have gotten lost in all the different workspaces and functions it offers. (Where's my "create sketch" tool? Can I extrude? Does Blender have parametric design history, or is it more like AutoCAD?) Do you have guides on this?
We need to understand that Blender IS NOT a design software at its heart. It was developed as an animation tool for creating, texturing, and animating models for TV and film. Things like exporting drawings etc are not default functionality because they're not a part of that workflow. Equally, parametric workflows are not a default. That's where Sverchok is taking up some of the slack. It's aiming to provide parametric workflows with CAD-familiar functionality within Blender. The course offers an introduction to Sverchok and several different workflows but not specifically aiming at on-boarding users from CAD software. That process is somewhat implicit. If your goal is to use the vanilla blender experience for design, that's very doable but really will come from learning mesh modelling techniques. Within Futurly's courses, we'd recommend jumping on one of the Maya sessions and just transferring that knowledge to Blender (Futurly+ membership includes Rhino, Maya, and Blender courses). Tools will have different names but especially with normal mesh modelling workflows, all mesh modellers will behave the same. Hope this answered your comment thoroughly <3
Honestly, one of the highest quality tutorials I had seen in a long time. Thank you! One question, what Add on you are using to cast mouse/ketbord strokes?
Hi my friend, I just want to learn how can I make create something like Refik Anadol's work using tons of pictures to create data sculptures? Which software, which technique or any tutorial? Just asking! Any help would be appreciated!
