Narrator: It was a cold winter's morning on the Island of Sodor. The wind was bitter on the ground hard with frost. Thomas, Percy and James were cold and cross. Thomas: "Man where is the firelighter?" huffed Thomas. "He knows that we need warm boilers. He's late." James: "He's not late." replied James. "The cold weather woke us up early. That’s all." Narrator: Gusts of wind swirled round Tidmouth Sheds tossing flakes of snow towards Thomas, then they swooshed round James and Percy. Percy: "Why don't we talk about something else?" shivered Percy. James: “Good thinking”. Boasted James. “Like what? Thomas: "maybe how silly we’ll look if our funnels turn into icicles." James: "oh I don’t think so we need to talk about warm things that would make us feel uncold. like sunshine, steam, toasting hot fireboxes." Thomas: "Or firelighters." muttered Thomas. Percy: "Scarves!" continued Percy. Thomas: "Scarves? James: “Ha! That's what you need, Percy. A woolly scarf round your funnel." Narrator: James was only teasing, but Percy thought happily about scarves until the firelighter arrived. Later that day. Percy was now working hard. His fire was burning nicely, and he had plenty of steam, but he still thought about scarves. Everywhere he went he saw people wearing scarves around the necks. Quite soon, he met Gordon and Edward. Edward: “ Hello, Percy. “Busy day for it isn’t it?” Percy: “Busy day for what?” Edward: “Gordon is given the important visitors a tour of the railway.” Percy: “Oh Yes, Of Course. I was just too busy thinking.” Edward: “About what, Percy? Percy: "About having a scarf for my funnel." he puffed. "The passengers have scarves around their necks. so I thought how good I look when I get a scarf for myself!" Gordon: "Rubbish, Percy." said Gordon. "Engines don't wear scarves." Percy: "Engines with proper funnels do." replied Percy. "You funnel is too short." Gordon: “May I just mention to you that is very dignifying for an engine to wear a scarf?” Percy: “No.” complained Percy. “I know what that meant from you.” Gordon: “Very well.” said Gordon sternly “But you’re never gonna have me see you wearing a passengers woolly scarf!” Narrator: Before Edward could say anything, Percy puffed away. Edward: I can’t believe you had to do that, Gordon! Narrator: Gordon snorted. He was looking forward to pulling the special train. It was time for the photographs. Everyone was excited. I was waiting on the platform for my special trousers. This morning I had pressed his special trousers and was looking forward to taking important visitors on a tour of the railway. I had put my trousers in my trunk and planted change into them before the photographs were taken. The Fat Director’s trunk was amongst a big load of baggages. The Porters were taking the baggage trolley over the tracks. They were walking backwards to see that nothing fell off. Percy was waiting just outside the station. He had to wait until the Porters pulled the trolley across the line so they didn’t listen to him anymore. But Then he heard James’ whistle. James could see the station ahead and he knew he couldn’t stop in time. Percy took the biggest puff he could ever take and he blew the loudest whistle he ever blew to warn the Porters. Tim: Was That An Engine? Jim: Over There! Narrator: The Porters got out of the way just in time. James ran into the Baggage Trolley and Boxes and Bags burst everywhere. James and Percy: "Uhhh Ohhh!!" Groaned James and Percy. Percy: “Are You Okay, James?” asked Percy. Narrator: Sticky streams of jam trickled down James's face. A top hat hung on his lamp iron. Worst of all, a pair of trousers coiled lovingly round his funnel. Everyone was cross. The Fat Director seized the top hat. Sir Topham Hatt: "James, look what you’ve done!" James: "Oh Sir, I’m sorry sir." Sir Topham Hatt: "We must pay the passengers for their spoiled clothes and my trousers are ruined. I hope this will teach from teasing Percy." Narrator: Percy helped silly James to the engine wash to be cleaned. On the way, they met Henry. Henry: "Hello, James. So you found a scarf for Percy, eh? But legs go in trousers, not funnels." Narrator: perhaps it was lucky for Percy he didn’t hear Henry as he puffed away to tell Gordon the news. That evening, Thomas and Percy were resting in the sheds. The workmen at the engine wash had taken the trousers away and given James a good rubdown before James got back to Tidmouth Sheds too. but he had to get some fast asleep. because he didn’t want to talk about what happened today. Thomas: "The Firelighter promised to come here early tomorrow morning." said Thomas. Percy: “oh I am glad” said Percy. Narrator: Gordon arrived. He'd enjoyed taking the visitors on a tour, and was sorry for James, as well after hearing from Henry about what happened. Gordon: "Edward has gone to collect something special for you, Percy. It must be a surprise." Percy: "A Surprise, Gordon." replied Percy. "What is it?" Narrator: Percy was about to find out, than he thought. Edward arrived with a small crate loaded on a flatbed. Edward: “I told The Fat Director about what you wanted as a Christmas present this year”. Said Edward. “We think that you’ll like it, Percy.” Workmen: Surprise! Narrator: Everyone Gasped. it was a green and white soft scarf. Percy: “A Scarf For Me” Cried Percy. “Oh This is just what I wanted. I’m so happy.” Percy: “This is the best surprise I’ve ever had.” Said Percy happily. Narrator: The Engines agreed with Percy. Especially Gordon. He didn’t think it was dignified for an engine to wear a scarf at all. Isn’t it?
Gordon's express coaches, which are seen in series 2, have green doors, black rooftops, and white windows, red express coaches which are seen in series 2 3 and 4 have red doors black rooftops and white windows
2:07 "My name's Rocky," the crane smiled at Edward. "I'm Edward," puffed Edward. "Can I come with you?" asked Rocky, I could help you with those heavy pipes." "I don't need your help," said Edward, "New fangled nonsense."

Why did Thomas feel busy with his Sodor branch line passenger train business and the Sodor Topham Circus and too thankful for Henry’s bravery from 0:00 to 4:31?
