Hrm.. I think I might be too weird about cleaning aluminum workpieces before I weld.. I didnt see old boy use acetone or red scotch brite even once, and his welds look decent enough. Shrug
these mufflers are aftermarket ones that he already had when I bought this bike. but in order to switch to one instead of two pipes, I cut all the pipes from the bottom and lifted them in different ways until I could fit all the ends more or less where I needed them. luckily didn't have to bend any. there was enough space next to the crankcase to fit the shortened muffler and it's almost done.
Hi Christian! I wanted to experiment with sheet metal bending and square shapes that would support the original frame shape and rim spokes of this motorcycle. according to the design, the end result should be smooth, but simple with special details.
