Tough as an American to watch and listen to this and not get emotional. Regardless of what side of the political fences you stand on or believe in, hearing that makes you feel proud to be American, despite how messed up things in this country can be at times.

Chris Stapletons version: reminded us all of the pride we feel for our country and is being attacked and we all know it. Whitney Houstons anthem: empowered and amplified the pride we had for our country. Strengthen and unified all in one. Both very powerful for different reasons.
He is performing as he lived all the lines of the anthem , and he is emotionally telling the story to a close relative. It is admirable how some talented people can transport themselves to another reality and show all the emotions that are hidden underneath the words. Chris voice may not reach the higher notes , as some other people do, but our emotions went far beyond that, with his performance.
