Nice video. Thanks for not insisting on showing us your face, just well shot and edited images of the rides. good stuff. Absolutely LOVE seeing these make such a strong comeback. Mini truckin 4eva!
I love this --- it brings me back -- I can't believe us gen x 'rs ... are dare I say it -- getting old... I am 50 but it feels like yesterday we were tearing up the streets on some really bad ass bikes with friends -- got lucky enough to ride on several occassions with OGs of ramp and street riding -- Osborne, McNeil, Hoffman, etc... man -- we all had the best bikes and rode them hard -- I had the OGs the greats... Haro Freestylemaster GT FREESTYLE TEAM SPORT PRO DYNO COMP TEAM SKYWAY TA --- all decked on 'high end' parts... saved my paper route money and spent it all on bikes... I am no better than anyone here man -- I am just reminiscing of the good old days -- I don't stop to remember them -- ENOUGH -- we are blessed and were blessed. Because today -- the kids today -- we paved the way for them -- and they have no idea man. We had no phones to dominate our actual ability TO LIVE LIFE... Now -- got a 7 year old boy - who needs a new bike -- don't even know where to start -- The brands of the 80s -- gone for the most part except ODYSSEY... and a few others. ANYONE OUT THERE ?? RECOMMEND SOME QUALITY BIKES that don't cost a fortune that I should get my kid ripping up the streets with -- Sending my best to all the OGs out there --
In 85 I got a chrome Hutch Pro Racer. Everything was Hutch except for the Redline Flight 401s and the Suntour Bear Claw pedals. The Hutch pedals were DANGEROUS. Had graphite Tuffs, an Elina seat with a layback post, a Zeronine plate, and black Comp IIIs with the gumwall. badass bike.
my first bike was a stingray...the old ones...my dad had it since he was a kid...we put some cw bars on it and changed the seat and post...done...I destroyed that thing by the time I was 12. I got a schwinn predator(the low end one) for my birthday....51 now and still ride(flatland, some street) but I've had so many bikes over the years...everything from a stu-thompson huffy to a kuwahara magician to a gt pro freestyle tour tema model....to a hoffman(had to get those love handles too) etc...etc... I didn't ever buy any bike from the bash guard era....fuck that..now I'm ridin an Autum bikes frame and a whole skew of after market parts...bmx has turned into skateboarding that way...no one make a good complete bike anymore.
