I bought this tractor from a neighbor who had it rebuilt 20+years ago, but he parked it after only one season of use. So it's a very healthy motor and runs like a champ!
Indeed, it depends on the track. Alot of times it'll wind up you need to pull the TA right before a soft patch and then you're stuck in the water. But not this time!
We had a 1945 B John Deere and I could move 14 x 70 mobile homes with it but we had to put 20 cement block out over the front end so that it would stay on the ground but it would move them with easy even in the mud
Not bad at all for that late late-styled B (50, 51, 52?). Oversize pistons (I'm guessing .90 oversize?). Very smooth. That's over a thousand pounds above stated capacity. Thanks for sharing!
I've seen some people do real good when they have tin rims, then they can get down a class. Ours I just did for fun, it was a good pull for what it is, but compared to other tractors it's not as good.
Dad had two model B's on the farm. One with the mounted cultivator and one for hauling wagons around. Powerful for such a small tractor. I can still see Dad at one end of the field with the B and two row cultivator and I'd have the 4 Star Minneapolis with a 4 row three point cultivator. Didn't know how good those days were until they were long gone.
In the mid to late 60s Dads biggest tractor was a 44 Massey Harris. He plowed over 200 acres every year with it pulling a 3 bottom Case plow. Hardcore farming.
Dresser TD 25's are a stout tractor, maybe they would be considered something around a Cat D-9. One of our friendly competitors got their TD 25 stuck at a pond dig up in Kentucky. WE sent a Cat 320, a Cat 325, and a D-8, up to dig it out. Before it was over there were even huge farm 4 X 4 tractors helping us pull. The chains looked like a spider web on the pond lip. I will make one comment, although the tasking of this TD-25 is entirely appropriate, do not send a bulldozer to do an excavator's job. Best regards!
