I watched this video to see what to do about post clean lubrication. I was afraid to put froglube on as a lube because I thought it would get sticky and gummy. I use froglube extensively on my polymer guns. It’s great.
30 years ago when I was young I had a 22 mag Winchester lever. Shot 82 woodchucks that summer! Had a blast. I've been at the range all my life from childhood and am there often. I could hit a chuck in the head off a round hey bail back then at 100. Groups werre 3"at 100. sweet rifle. wish never got rid of it. 22 mags are under rated.
I bought one if these POS in .22 WMR. New, out of the box, could not eject spent brass and 3/8 bullets went throught the target 180 degrees sideways, with others showing a degree of "tumbling". AFTER being "repaired" by Charter, extraction is marginally better, but still not smooth, and the keyholing is no different. It is back for further repair work.... The gun is garbage, and customer service from Charter Arms is even worse than garbage.
New shooter here. Glad I came across this video. Great job explaining it for me instead of getting chastised by people in forums because I don’t instantly know everything. Thanks!!
gun community really sucks in that way. A lot of big ego dudes who don't know how to be kind to people who are trying to learn. This video was really helpful to me too.
My first time to the range I had 7 malfunctions out of 100 rounds with Norma 230 grain FMJ factory ammo. My second time to the range I had ZERO malfunctions out of 100 rounds using Federal 230 grain FMJ factory loads. The down side, it took twice as long to clean the gun using the DIRTY FEDERAL AMMO.
One thing I noticed is when shooting the SKS it appears that the barrel, rather than the stock, is resting on the sand bags. Am I wrong, but doesn't this effect the barrel harmonics, thus impacting POI and accuracy?
I called IWI yesterday. The lady that answer the phone told me that The conversion kits have been discontinued and it wasn't IWI's choice. She wouldn't give any details. IWI makes great guns but they treat customers like crap. I bought my X95 believing I could get a 300 blk kit later. They still pretend to offer conversion kits so they can trick people into buying the stock they have left. I feel they are a dishonest company.
“You like to call minute of man”? I ain’t buying that you coined the term. You heard it, recently to making this video, and couldn’t wait to use it. You gonna have a video on zeroing your deer rifles and claim ownership of “minute of meat”?
I haven't been able to find an SP-01 Shadow Target, which was originally what I wanted, right up until I got a brand new SP-01 Competition (which has since been discontinued) at the same time I got into gunsmithing, I completely revamped the gun and made it _better_ than the Shadow, I replaced the hammer spring with an #11.5 hammer spring, the mainspring with an #11 spring, added a reduced power trigger return spring, replaced the trigger with a Cajun Gun Works Standard package & flat SAO trigger along with adjustable sear and race hammer (I converted it to SAO by removing the disconnector), installed a solid trigger pin, installed a DPM 3-stage buffer spring and CZ frame buffer, polished every single moving/mating surface in the gun including the CGW parts, removed the FPB (which differentiates the regular SP-01 from the Shadow and makes the reset _super_ short), shimmed the sear cage to the frame to reduce any residual sponge, and replaced the rear sight with a dovetail mount for an RMS Shield red dot. The trigger pull comes in at 1.8 pounds with only .060" of travel from reset to fire, it's incredible. I've never shot a gun that could fire so quickly, it's back on target faster than I can run the trigger. CZ is finally starting to gain popularity but not enough, their pistols are just unbeatable for the money, there are better guns but they cost triple or more what a CZ costs.
Hello to you, Great review on your part, I did enjoy it. Just yesterday I came across the same exact firearm in (40) F Model , barely used. I am seriously thinking on grabbing it.
A 16" 300bo barrel? Have you looked at the FPS and ballistics? 9" barrel completes the rounds burn off. 300bo was never designed for a 16" barrel. You are doing the cartridge a disservice. Yes the 300bo was designed to be suppressed. It took the place of the HKMP5,because operators wanted more punch, with the same/ close to barrel,so when it has a can on it, it doesn't look like a jousting lance, like what you have. Mine is 7.5" with a Silencerco can, and can reach out to 250yds, and keep practical accuracy. It was designed only for CQB applications between 0-100yds.Hence the short barrels like the MP5.
