well this song is an odd one out, but I'd still say it's Tristania, at least one from them. Although they dont really exist anymore, since they sadly disbanded, so now it's just their works that are them :?
Yeah origional frontman Jeffrey Nothing has retired from the biz and has been replaced by Steve Rauckhorst and Mrs Jackie was an addition for this album. Its definitely a different sound, but bands evolve. Unfortunately due to losses and family issues Ms Jackie has since stepped away from the scene for the forseeable future. The whole slipknot/mushroomhead "rivalry" was another unfortunate event. The whole reason being that people thought that mushroomhead was trying to ride the coattails of slipknots success when in reality mushroomhead (masks and all) were out a few years before. Slipknot blew up due to thr fact they were signed by a roadrunner records who market their talent, whereas mushroomhead (who turned down the contract that was given to slipknot, roadrunner liked the gimmick) chose to stay underground, having loyalty to filthy hands studio, who was run by a long time friend. Truth is there should never have been a rivalry, both bands are great in their own right, but things being the way they were mushroomhead missed out on a huge potential fanbase.

Pig squeals, grunts, gutturals, screams, screeches, etc. Sometimes there's something deeper beneath it and you need to look beyond it. Extremely rare are the few who can understand the lyrics the first time through a metal song of any sub-genre and really get at the meaning of the song. The entire ...And I Return to Nothingness EP is a concept album of death and rebirth. Sun//Eater is about Icarus. Into the Earth is about the fear of subconscious while lucid dreaming. And Pain Remains I, II and III (can infer even loosely what III is about...) being about the different facets of dealing with grieving, loss and the aftermath. Let along the rest of their catalogue and so many other bands/songs, too. All of that is lost to some people who can't see past whatever elements that put them off initially - banshee-screeching vocals and thunderous double bass being the most likely culprits. Lorna Shore's changing the game. They're not necessarily the first to do any of this by any means but they're certainly riding the surge of popularity and attention into the mainstream - which is a great thing if it doesn't compromise their musical integrity (hasn't so far!). They're bringing different elements of musicality to a subgenre of metal, or even metal as a whole genre altogether, that has inadvertently tried really hard to go as hard, fast, loud, disturbing, crazy, dark, etc. as it can go just for the sake of it at times and consequently oversimplified itself. Not all of it by any means but enough of it that it's a even 'thing' or observation about it. Sometimes it is fun to go those routes but what doing so usually does is sacrifice any measure of real/discernable/meaningful depth to connect with, especially for the untrained/casual ear (metal-wise, not music theory). And that's where things like this (or Pain Remains I, and other songs like it) come in. Anyway! Long, reflective tangent about the fortunate musical times we find ourselves in aside: thank you for enduring and making it through the music video thus enabling you to capture the raw reaction.
