Bob here, and I want to tell you that this is a gaming channel devoted to D&D and tabletop RPGs. I primarily focus on live-play Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition games as well as guides, reviews, and podcasts. Join us during streams in the chat. See you on the tabletop!
I am not familiar with the Vecna campaign so I am a bit flying blind. 1st session was a lot of fun with great PC's coming back. Could be a Zoom with more than 5 people in the future?
Awesome game, great to see who teamed up for the first session! Loved the intro! It would be really cool to have some merch for the game that includes Vecna: Eve of Ruin and all the players names…and the TTB logo.
Looking forward to tomorrow night with Vecna which I guess is a Demi-Lich? Is this Lich more powerful than Azerick from Tomb of Horrors? Looking forward to seeing all the PC's in this adventure although the Charcoal Coalition are my #1 Guys. Bob maybe the ghosts of Valentien (Tim) or Karg (John) make an appearance?
Great sequel to Keep on the Borderlands. Your group is a lot of fun to watch. Looking forward to the Vecna series next week. Thank you again for helping pass time while driving to (and from) work!
Enjoyed the mini campaign. Excited for the big campaign in the near future for the Charcoal Coalition. Bob knows what classic module it should be. I told him the perfect one, although I let him take the credit
(Jeff/Skeggi here) Our version of Keep is pure 2014 PHB, plus Tasha and Xanathar, as most (all?) of Bob's D&D campaigns have been. He'll be running Vecna in 2014 also, to close out the decade of original 5e with his version of Avengers: Endgame. That will run well into 2025, and will involve characters from most (all?) of his 5e campaigns, shuffled around into new groups--watch the "post-credits scene" of this episode for a hint of how that will start out. As for the future, Bob says he's not sure yet which system(s) he'll be running D&D in--2014 5e, 2024 5e, or both. I *suspect* that if/when the Charcoalition returns, post-Vecna, we will probably continue in 2014 5e, since our characters are pretty advanced by now, and that's their native system. I don't think we want to rebuild the characters at 8th or 9th level. Personally, I'd rather NOT switch to 2024 rules at all, mostly because I don't care for the way WotC is steering D&D onto their proprietary website and VTT, but that's purely my opinion. I don't know where Bob will stand on that in 2025.
@pISSUMTREE Jeff summed it up pretty well. I don't know about older games switching to the new edition. If new games use it, I'd cross that bridge next yr. We may have some smaller one shots with it in the meantime.
I like that you change it up to make it cooler. My very first Holmes Edition Box Set had B1 in it. I don't remember it nearly as fondly as B2. Some of the doors that lead to more doors that lead to more doors and diagonal hallways solely meant to challege the kid with the pencil in the graph paper just isn't interesting to me now. I don't believe it was then either. There are those that said Gary made B2 because he was jealous of the royalties being paid to the guy who made B1, but frankly I think B2 is just a far superior adventure. The Keep on the Borderlands was home base for almost every kid playing D&D back then. We would just plop the other modules on the map somewhere that made some sense and off we go. Chult next?
Tomorrow night is the finale of the mini adventure with the Charcoal Coalition then it's on to Vecna. What is Vecna sounds like an Italian desert. After Vecna then the Charcoal Group will be back with a big-time adventure. Castle of Amber maybe?
I have my session 0 this upcoming sunday and i am super excited ive watched all of these and when i finish the next video i will be rewatching all of them this series is so good, i plan to run chains of asmodeus from the dms guild afterwards to kind of continue it out to lvl 20
I completly homebrewed this campain and my players are now here, my canpain starts in berdusk before the fall, so when they reached here they are level 7 I made thalamra fave a armor of imps, the armor makes everytime she is hit they instead hit an imp hiding in the dungeon and get hellish rebuked, so the more imps they kill the weaker she is, and i rod her as a monk punching 3 eldrich blasts a turn
I’m getting ready to run this campaign and this series has been SO helpful for prep and I know I’ll come back to review before each section. Really hoping you still post the path of the devils video!
Candlekeep Mysteries is a good shoutout. Thank you for this video and the others so far! I have been running this and these are great for prep and understanding things as I read over them. 🤟
Is there any other dms guide you plan on doing because let me say this has been THE BEST series ever I'm running DiA as my first campaign as a dm and I love this so so much
