I thought this was supposed to discuss some of the openly gay and not openly gay people in Deering’s social circles at Vizcaya? I didn’t hear much mention of that really. Seemed to be more of a generic panel discussion with little historical discussion of what went on at Vizcaya. Nothing wrong with that, but i was just a bit disappointed as i expected to hear more actual stories based on the historical research. History buff here as well!

Thank you for this interview. It is so necessary for us living in Miami to know the real stories about Miami specifically the ones that were overlooked but so important in building this city. That's the Barge! It was used as a leisure space used to entertain James Deering’s guests. It's also a work of art, but, most importantly, it serves as a breakwater built to protect the estate from storms - even to this day.
