1:57 girl on the left is overacting soo bad- looks like she has constipation or diarrhea more like LOL. Choreography is very very meh- Leo doesn't even dance at the part in the song about the Manhattan dance. But 0:17 girl sings very very well

Well, since I am a sort of "West Side Story" expert - that this part is the major turning point in this musical. Alluding to possibly a mixture of the kill-off of Mercutio and the kill-off Tybalt in "Romeo and Juliet" here in this fight scene--but much faster here.
I'm sure if I had seen this musical back then,I'd love it.I can't fully believe that Hatchet Face and Milton are not in it.When Hatchet Face and Milton are on screen in the movie. That is my favorite part.😞😲

Man, I had the opportunity to play God in Children of Eden in highschool, and this was the first song I’ve ever had trouble getting through. It’s emotional on a different level, still brings a tear to my eye to listen. Idc if it’s real or not, it’s still a beautiful story.
I know West Side Story a great deal. So here is the lowdown before the taunt the Jets do on Anita....and after the taunt. After the song "A Boy Like That" is sung, Anita warns Maria that Chino is out to put a hit on Maria because Chino is armed with a pistol. (Obviously, and keenly, Chino is planning a revenge murder for Tony's kill-off of Bernando in the rumble.) Anita goes to the Doc, while Maria is being investigated by the cops Krupke and Schrank. Just before the end of the investigation, I think Maria does a lie on the cops by mentioning "Jose" as her boyfriend, and not Tony - probably to keep Tony from potentially being shot by Chino. Now after the Doc stops the Jets' unacceptable attack on Anita and Anita announces that Maria was shot, the Doc had enough of the Jets' madness and craziness, and orders all of the Jets out of the Doc's place. After the Jets leave the place, Doc goes down to the basement, where Tony is preparing to have a honeymoon with Maria, but Doc counters that and tells Tony that there is no more Maria, and tells Tony from Anita's shouting upstairs that Maria was killed by Chino. Tony realizes this slowly and faces his reality that Maria is no more, and runs out of the basement to the upstairs, and goes out of Doc's into the dangerous streets, calling a lot of times Chino's name by shouting, because Tony wants to be slammed on sight by Chino. And you know the rest of the story.......
