His establishment as a solo artist came after a three-year stint with Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds with the release of his classic first solo album, Moss Side Story - the ultimate soundtrack to an “imaginary film”. Barry Adamson’s most recent release 'Memento Mori', brings together the artist’s writing and recording career over the last 40 years.
In September 2021 Adamson published his debut memoir 'Up Above The City, Down Beneath The Stars'.

A real knockout! I was so grateful for the release of this album. A very welcome diversion from the overwhelming pile of pop pablum and shite that is cruising the airwaves and clogging up digital streams. This is a great album worth many listens as it wends and weaves through many diversionary sounds that work together to keep it always interesting. Thank You Barry for your work. Ladies and gentlemen, this is talent and skill at work.

Been a fan of Barry’s ever since Magazine’s first London gig. Always knew he’d go cinematic on us and of course he did with Moss Side Story etc. This is in the great tradition. Another beauty. We are all Adam’s Sons. Er, and daughters. Sorry, bit pissed here (Berlin 6am).
This is one of the best american music track ever created with unique voice. I dont understand how its not known worldly. I found it accidently and now its one of my fav tracks ever
