Windows NT 5.0 had another fake shutdown sound, which was the startup sound but in reverse. Also some earlier windows sounds videos also claimed that Whistler used XP sounds, even though it used 2000/ME sounds until build 2481.
Wow the windows community sucks. All they care about is LOGOS LOGOS LOGOS and nothing else. Windows Expert may be a cool guy, he may be a wicked person to chat with, but the content he makes is just garbage. All the music in the videos sounds like it's made in Garageband, the editing is trash, and it's a far cry from all other Windows creators. I TRIED to be one. It failed, that's why I became a gamer instead. Another thing about the MWC (Microsoft Windows Community) is that they really love to spread misinformation. Why? It's fun, they say. When I tried to correct someone on the "Longhorn effect" the MWC was harassing me. I deleted the comment then and there.
this take probably has nothing to do with the video but i completely agree and im really thinking about making a video of this bullshit community. I would say this community has the most people who are dick riders for the vista/7 operating systems and if u even talk the slightest shit about their favorite operating system then they go at you like u just commited a sin, they go onto ur videos to whine and complain about what u said about their favorite operating system. Just go look at the comment section of my recent video and you'll see what im talking about. Another thing, in this community you have to have the same opinion as others, not your own apparently. If you like the windows 11/10 (Metro) theme then "oH mY gOd uR A sHiTty PeRSon" but if you like vista/7's aero theme then you will not get hate. The whole point of this long ass paragraph is the fact that 1. this community cant take opinions 2. you have to have the same opinion as other people you cant have ur own
0:07 this sound is parts of the 95 startup sound distorted and changed and sped up 0:25 first, why do people think that sounds actually exist this far back (i know the first recorded sound dated all the way back to c. 1850-1860 but this is not what i mean) and second, i know this is from windows 3.0 actually but it was only the multimedia extensions version and not the retail version 0:28 you are correct, but this is not the only reason. Second, those 98 sounds rerecords are too good to be processed in the 3.1 OS as maybe it sounds too suspiciously futuristic (or i would say that if i actually lived in the 1990's) and even if it did, it would be more or less be compressed. thus, reducing the quality of the sounds. 0:54 yes indeed. NT 5.0 didnt use the typical startup sound untill build 1671 (i kinda forgot the number but if im right, rad!) 1:40 this shutdown is the startup more accurately of windows 2000 beta 3 which are builds 1946-1969 (as previously mentioned) (OMG 69 NOICE) 1:51-2:18 yes, this theme is from themeworld but i just wanna say to those who dont even know themeworld is themeworld is a place you can download custom backgrounds, sounds, etc. and i know this because i watched another video and i actually have downloaded a whistler scheme for my windows 10 for free. second of all, these sounds seem too scary to be in an os, i mean thats obvious enough, why would windows put these sounds?! 2:23-2:32 These sounds come from windows 2000 beta 3 and only come from those builds (he mentioned this so nice) and also, Millenium used 98 sounds until later on. 2:39-2:52 yup, these sounds are from the very scheme i downloaded from themeworld! why are people dumb enough to fall for these. another note, this os used 2000 sounds until build 2494 (as mentioned by Billy O' Reilly), 2481 was the first to have xp sounds but wasnt enabled by default. 3:11-3:21 yes these builds im sure use the RTM 2000 sounds and some xp sounds i think, but thats a guess. 3:26-3:36 *insert secondary startups and shutdowns from themeworld here* yup, not only it was from 98 plus, it was also ripped off and used in the whistler theme scheme i downloaded just like that poor BeOS startup sound from 5.0 ver. PRODUCING SOUNDS COST A LOT OF MONEY SO WHY WOULD BILL GATES, MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY EVEN MAKE A SOUND FOR ONE COUNTRY ONLY?! 3:57-4:08 sounds fake, never used and is a samsung scheme for windows longhorn. (idk if there is a scheme of samsung for windows longhorn which is downloadable, but if it is, thats nice) Edit May 2 2023: Actually I remember a video that says the fake sounds are actually (presumably) either a scheme for Windows XP or i think these Fake “Windows Longhorn” sounds are actually in Windows XP as some sort of limited edition but im too lazy to confirm my theory. Edit 2 May 2 2023: I found enough evidence to prove that there IS actually a samsung scheme for windows xp. thats some good news for my fellow brotheren who like the “longhorn” sounds and are using windows XP. Edit 3 May 2 2023: I also found out the very same samsung scheme from windows xp is also downloadable in Windows Longhorn, which gives a clue to why it is thought that the samsung sounds are legit. Maybe someone downloaded the scheme and never used it in a long time, went back on windows longhorn, never noticed the sounds were fake then showed it to youtube someway or someone was given a modified computer not knowing the samsung sounds were fake. I also have a side note: there is a bubble startup variant for the samsung scheme of windows xp. Even though its ok if not, try to be careful when your finding ur windows “longhorn” startup in some sort or else u can end up with the bubble variant. 4:19-4:34 SHUTDOWN SOUND IS RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR *triggered* side note for 3:57-4:34: i forgot to say that windows longhorn used xp sounds and some vista and windows 7 sounds in the second longhorn one. 4:40-4:48/4:49 again shutdown sound is from samsung one question, you didnt mention anything for the shutdown sound anymore at this point, did windows get the right to use the samsung shutdown? 5:22-5:26 the startup sound is logon.wav in the files of windows 8 and above. actually, windows 8 and above actually has a startup which is the windows vista/windows 7 startup but isnt enabled by default. shutdown sound is not possible to be gained unless the os is modified for windows 8 and above. 5:30/5:31-5:36/5:37 Again, the startup sound is windows 7/windows vista startup but isnt enabled by default. and again, NO SHUTDOWN SOUND unless the OS is modified.
Longhorn shutdown and many other sounds from that OS are from a Samsung custom theme or one of their phones (Samsung Blackjack I think) (one of the sounds for the device connect is Cosmic Radio from Samsung Galaxy).
