I've given up. Now, when I see pests, I just go buy ladybugs and live with them for a few weeks before letting them go. Works really well if you can tolerate them crawling up the walls 😂
Assuming the roots are established but not rootbound, I'd separate both plant to make 4 smaller root systems with a well draining mix they'd go perfectly in that pot 😊 cute combo!
Thanks for the info. I’m growing 5 ficus trees in a north facing window 😅. A Benjamina, two Belize, a Shivareana, and Altissima Yellow Gem, all from little babies. I was wondering if I should pot up my Benjamina, but maybe she can wait until spring. I really want an Umbellata and Alii too. Cool video. ❤ Ficus 🪴
I agree with you! I don’t like to disturb roots unless they are coming out the bottom or root bound. The only time I will replace the substrate is if it’s NASTY, poor quality or too dense. Even then, I just shake and whatever comes off is all I do. I don’t tousle or rinse it to reduce breakage and I don’t remove all of it because my go to mix is aerated enough that being dense around the root ball doesn’t matter. ❤❤
Well I hope you both continue to enjoy all you have and in each other always.. Grow and prop what you have and save some money.. move things around OH YOU POOR GIRL WHO IM KIDDING?? ID BE LOOSING MY S... 😂❤😂
I don’t cut ficus after a year of killing the cuttings, I started air layering put it in dirt with 2” roots and it dropped so I moved it to water. I have 1 of 3 right now. I needed to get the stump outside and in the sun so that it would start budding before it got cold out. Which meant I needed to cut now. I didn’t have time for more roots to grow on the air layer.
