Bikes... this channel is for my bikes + riding videos. I add music that I made to many of them. (to the shah-grin of many, the joy of a few)
There's some play lists down there to segregate things a little, but ya might have to thumb through them or "uploaded videos" a bit too, because there's over 450... There's a lot to watch. Thank you everyone who is enjoying the content. You are going to want to check out the play lists for your favorites! 1/17/23 We've jumped ahead to over 600 subs! Wow! thank you everyone who is getting on board. This channel is different than what drives most channels. Not in it for the money and certainly not wanting my channel to be commercial. The fact that I am sharing this content and there are some who are digging it, brings me happiness. If you have something to say, by all means make a comment!
6-12-24 Airport flat was bad for deer flies the 3 hours before sunset and the tiny mosquitos was hell in the last hour before sunset. You really needed the repellant. A lot of repellant.
Thank you so much for your video! I tried going summer of 2023 but it was all closed to my surprise, but now since it’s 118 F outside I want to take my friends to go swim. You are right, the parking looks horrible and no way everybody is going to walk and crowd in that tiny space next to the trail. I bet everyone is doing the same parking alongside the road like old times.
Thank you for watching! Especially a video from an old bike guy! Yep I had tried to go down there 4 times since they closed it. And they DID delay the reopening for quite a while. But staying vidulent I finally got to see what they have done down there. AND, I will say I have updated the title to include a statement about the parking. There IS parking down at the bottom, right near the bridge. Signs are up to show you where you can park. It is basically like before but limited. Go early to get a good spot. 2many
@@2manyrides are you sure you can park by the bridge? i want to take some friends up there next weekend but i dont want a ticket or anything. but if you say so ill take your word for it
@@pizzafaceree1548 You can park by the bridge, YES you can. Right by the bridge on the north side only is where designated parking is. Believe it or not, I was there today at 10:45 am. Two vehicles were there. It can be crowded on weekends, go early. There is enough room to park with in the legal confines for about 10 or 15 cars if they park orderly. It was so nice and peaceful there today.
Since I discovered it's differences, I have been looking. And I have never seen another. If I get this right, you're saying it is a regular E series with parts rearrainged. You've rekindled my wonder on that one. I have the 2nd white beos muffler seen in this video. I'll take it apart and see.
If you look at :47. On your page you show, there is the "tailpipe". I believe it was an either or thing. The tailpipe would be used instead of the plates, or you remove the tailpipe and use the plates and oblong endcap. So they either have the tailpipe with the oblong cap, or it's the internal baffle flipped. The oblong cap would not be used with the tailpipe piece. Either way, I'm curious now! I've got an E series from a yz400f that I'm fixing up for a friend. The exhaust is totally shot, internal baffle pipe is rotted from both ends, all the cap screws were rotted in half. I'm attempting to rehab it, but we'll see how it goes!
@@pooleo8 My extra E series is from a junker bike. Never tried to disassemble. When I get to that I will post it here in this thread. Aint happening today though...
Well, didn't that come outta the blue! OK,ok, I'll see what I can do...thank you... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MJ72gzRY-5Q.htmlsi=aFbMes8IALCHRpfd
It has been a couple weeks since I uploaded anything. I would guess that those mornings may have been troublesome for all the subscribers. But no fear! This is day two of a camp trip. In the future you will be subjected to day one. It may not seem like it, but I spent a lot of time on this one and I have yet to edit day one yet. Hey dlrmon1, thanks for watching! 2many
Thanks, you can find 4 or 5 more by punching in "other people's xr600r's on my channel. The big problem in making them is saving all the bikes you saw go for sale and getting them all together.
Nice bike but dude, where are your gloves and protective gear? My Father told me when I started riding, to view myself as a block of cheese and the road as one big cheese grater. I've had several friends make this mistake and they've had to undergo years of painful and expensive corrective surgeries and skin grafts.
I have no excuse for not doing as you say. I do not have a leg to stand on with which to argue against your statement. Indeed I hate road rash! I deeply appreciate your concerns. It is a thoughtful and caring message. I have been lucky so far, but that could all change in an instant. Hell anything could happen in an instant! But you're right. where's my gear. These days I have felt mentally squemish about the thoughts of mishaps that could happen. And it brings back memories of my own father who went down at 95MPH on his eldorado. Sliding along he wore through his gear which consisted of proper protection of the day. Back then it was leather. The vision of the all encompassing road rash he had in the various locations is etched in my memory to this day even though he passed away in the 80's from something else. Thanks again for your thoughtful reminder. 2many
Why thank you for your comment! Glad it sparked something in you. Yes, they don't make em like that anymore and the $4,700 sticker price is chicken feed compared to today's bikes.

Welcome! I struggled with how to for quite some time. Once I figured it, I made the video. I do not know if this is the official honda way to do it. I have had to go back and reference the video later on myself!
Though many examples you might find out there these days might leave a lot to be desired... ones like this one, if you could get your hands on one, can be very satisfying. And for me, I am just perpetuating the species because I have the bikes/parts to keep them going. As a matter of fact, I will be unable to use them up before I reach the end of the trail. The xr600r is a natural for me.
@@izom I hear you! I am sure I am missing out on something. But then, pretty happy getting my thrills with what I have. Besides, throughout history my method of operation is to have things I can work on at home. If they are complicated, then I have a harder go at it. AND... My friends KTM wouldn't run. Took it to the dealer and spent $ to find out the fuse for the fuel pump had blown??? Who has fuel pumps? Not 2many.
Hey, you turned that into a horror movie! I kept waiting for the monster to attack! lol Nice lights! They remind me of when I used to ride my mountain bike on trails at night. Do you need an extra battery for them?
That ride is the "round a few blocks ride" you use when it just needs to be run, but there's not a "real" ride scheduled. It's like riding a dirt bike around town.
You had better keep an eye out cause they're getting tougher. I have a 99 for sale... hint, hint Regarding the question here, This bike, this video is a before and after with out really stating the fact. You can see what it was when I got it and once I was done. The inbetween stuff is all documented in this playlist. ru-vid.com/group/PLHAawYHWFtwRwzqoMB5v0HxYRAy1a4-kj But to kind of give an over view of the scenario... I was buying extra bikes because honda had just stopped supporting the xr600r. This 2000 was one of them. As I rearrainged parts on bikes to dial in my fleet for my needs, this one was not needed. So once the fleet was done, I decided to dial this 2000 in too because it showed little use compared to some. There is a whole chain of events and ownership from before I got it. I got it pretty cheap, it needed some nurturing back to health. The gamble I took with that bike paid off bigtime as I discovered it was true what I believed may have been the case when I test drove it. (not running right) It was newly posted on craigs list in the morning and I put out a "dibs" on it right away. $1,800. Hauling back home at 2pm the same day. But the kid I got it from got it for $800 two days before. And the guy he got it from got it for free!. So I got burned in a way because it had a plate that had been revoked in 2005. (which I was REALLY wanting) Still, 1800 for a little used ohv is with-in the decent range even in today's inflated prices.
Wow, that was an amazing deal! I’m not worried because I know that when the time is right, I can count on you to help me buy my dream bike. Thanks for the information and the link! Keep up the great work, sir. All my respect.
A candy bar was 5 cents. In general what used to be a dollar is now $20. I remember piling 8 of us in my 58 bel-air, each puts in a quarter for gas and we go out to folsom lake to swim for the day. All on 2 bucks gas. Yep, used to be a quarter. This video shows pretty much the last time I will be going to the car wash as I recently purchased a pressure washer. Too many bikes to be tossing all those quarters in at the car wash.
I did make them myself. It was kind of a "need" it like this type of thing for me. You see, I am generally a little cheap, so buying the latest gear and paying full retail is not my thing. The other part was that there really was not anything I saw on the market like I want it. So with a bit of time to think it out and some different raw materiels, I fashoned them. I will say here and now that they have been dynamite since their inception. I can't see going anywhere with out them on that particular bike set-up. IE, I would not run those on my dirt bike set-up, but I have thought of creating something smaller for OHV's. Since the day I made those I see companies like TUSK have developed a tank saddle bag offering. Wonder how much those cost? I made my set-up for about $40. I did a video on them once that may make out for any info I left out here. Thanks, 2many ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aF1a_v1au_M.htmlsi=9BMd1SwWgytzGUze
Oh boy! Sounds like you are in for some fun! I wish I was in your shoes, I love to explore and to see new places. Be careful and have a great trip... 2many
Ha...! I don't know about the living right, but I DO strive for that ride time. And if riding is what you mean by "right", then ya gotta know that It was hard to figure in the younger days. For example... you may see on here some times the mention of the "sda". Stands for 7th day adventurist. And that is we all had to work, a lot of times sunday, was the only day we could really do this kind of thing. Well, I am retired so that I can live right. Thanks for your comment, 2many
Yes I will be fine in time. I aggrivated cracked ribs from a previous get off, but I'll be normal after a couple weeks. It seems my aches and pains these days can all be attributed to some old dirt bike injury from the past. Ya know, your concern is well received over here. Thank you, 2many
It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't grown to be a blue haired old man. But true, I am kind of stuborn that way. I never go out and get next years new model. I make things last even if it is redundant. But to this get off in particular; It would have been easier to pick up and I can normally still do it with out too much trouble if the bike isn't partly upside down with the wheels on the high side. Oh, armadillo, I do accept donations. (lighter bike)
It is handy. There should be a big hook in the sky that grapples you just when you are about to go down and tightens up before you go all the way down. Just like is shown here!
Plated verses ohv...? Don't know what you are looking for but I have an extra 600 that I bought when I was gathering them to fight against a lack of parts availability. But then... I never used it for parts, could not bear to part it out. In fact I restored the odo and kickstand on it to bring it back to complete and stock. Also it has had the california emmisions crap removed and replaced with regular old xr600r breather system instead of the oil separator canister. It's for sale, but I am not trying to dump it either. I'll just hang on to it unless I find some one who will pay close to what I bought it for. $3,670 I paid, then I added those parts that were missing. Search my videos for 1999 xr600r.
Nice video. So you don't have to take out the rear wheel for it? Read that somewhere on a forum but couldn't believe that Honda made that design. I'd like to take out my airbox to plug a big hole some previous owner made. Not the smartest location since it's 1cm next to the mudguard and on the lowest part of the airbox 🥲. So dirt and water can enter the airbox very very easy.
I had to do trial and error until I found that method. There may be other ways, but I spent a lot of time trying to shove it in ways it would not go. You must have the muffler and header removed. Hole in box? down low? The previous owner might have well just put a sock on it instead. (for all the good that would do) Thanks for your comment, 2many
That is an interesting hypothisis, but I am not sure I buy it. Can you explain? I will add that I have many 600's and none of my own motors that I run have spline wear.
@@2manyrides Those motorcycles never stay, it seems like they were one of the current ones because of their resistance, my dad has 3, he likes to collect XR, those motorcycles are eternal, only their maintenance and that's enough, good routes bro ✌️
Hey cool... your dad. XR600R= one of the best all around fun and versitile play bikes out there. They don't take an arm and a leg to buy either.@@CarlosMartinez-ll6um
Yes It runs very well, and start, without any problem... The actual stator Is also new, I just need more watts for the extras, as lights & GPS... Do you have any drawing how you wire It?
Variables, variables abound beyond the basic rectifier/regulator wiring. What you have on your bike and what you want to accomplish are "one-off's" that you must design. No body can say exactly how your bikes components should be wired. The trail tech diagram I provided gets you started. As you see there, they run all lights and accessories from off the regulator whether switched or unswitched. Good luck!
nice- i had a friend here in europe ridin a 650l- which is very rare!- they just greyimported a handful in the 90s- i just remember he had it in the shop all time strugglin with the carb setup- bike was also not very strong and fast- guess they messed a lot with euro exhaust and settin :-/- made a trip with him back then: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FbovaWrrVC8.html
