After the battle, she looks at the woman (Joyce who also had a thing with Hopper) to see were hopper is, but he sacrificed himself. (later in season four they actually actually find out he’s not dead and he was captured by the Russians that were trying to open the gate that they had to destroy.)
He had such a good character setup for them to ruin it all in the third movie. I’m like just telling myself that the nick in the second movie and the nick in the third are different people.
