Great discussion..and i agree..as someone who liked the world of Horizon... But found the gameplay meh..to the point i bought the game but watched the story on youtube ..the game is nowhere near as great or as successful to deserve the push its getting.. But its been recently revealed horizon is Hermon holsts baby ..along with concord.. Which pretty much explains everything
It definitely is. A game no one talks about, barely has any views on youtube videos, has barely no community is somehow the best selling playstation game of all time. Further proof is this video having less than a 100 views. Surely you would expect more views when talking about the best selling playstation game of all time?
This. I came here looking for this answer. I knew I wasn't the only one thinking this way. They really weren't kidding when they described the mc as "industrial plant protagonist".
Hey guys it’s ur most loyal viewer lol, I kinda understand that it’s gone but it still sucks, the store was amazing and stuff and the console is still alive since the servers are still there. I can’t believe full house poker, shoot many robots, Doritos crash course 2… they’re all gone.
The steel cover, rip&tear repress, and Diecast keycard…some of the coolest things in set. Love physical media like this, just has so much more value than a digital copy of a game. Wish PC didn’t abandon physical copies for games…and it ducks VR is following that same trend too
Sorry, but you keep writing through your tears. RU-vid keeps flagging it as spam but I disagree. I know you can say something nice so I’ll keep giving you a chance :)
If only all of you were this sensible. Instead of going on a pseudointellectual rant about Japanese history you literally are just ignoring the thing you don't like. Respect brother.
You are too kind...I've deleted most of the worst ones, but only subscribe if you enjoyed our content. No need to subscribe out of any obligation but we appreciate the gesture, buddy :)
@@TheKarenWars I'm deleting comments, because it makes you nerds mad. Which is what I want. I've tried engaging in your arguments, but I'm realizing. I'm just right and there are no counter arguments that can defeat me and a lot of them are just being racist and pandering to other racists because every argument just devolved into ignoring what I said and insulting me, so I knew everyone would be debating in bad faith. And I know it makes you all mad to have your platform taken from you because I let your comment up and you're still being a butthurt about it, flexing your wealth from you lack of creativity and laziness Honestly, at this point, and I guess that goes for everyone, have any of you said this to someone outside. Like a random person, at a bus stop. Because I have, and I explained people the Yasuke situation and showed them all your comments, and they were horrified by all the death threats, pedo accusations, and insults I have received, which is why deleting all your comments is probably a positive benefit of society. Especially since I asked people of a lot of political backgrounds and they were all shocked at people's behavior here and all think Yasuke is cool now. All these people saying with their alleged evidence Ubisoft did something wrong and most casual people reading your comments sided with me because a lot of the comments were being so vile. So I will keep deleting comments so no one has to see a lot of people hatred And I ain't mad at you either, again your comment is still up because you weren't mean to me and I do agree with the last good being Black Flag even thought I did like Origins.
Wow! Finally, a sane person in the comment section. Thanks for the compliment, I think more games should be full of diverse rosters of characters from all walks of life :3
Hey guys, thanks for watching the video. I guess I have been misinformed about the whole situation. I didn't now you losers needed a trigger warning so I"ll put it here. If you think Yasuke is an issue and choose to insult us, please go grab your pacifier and go to your safe space and be a loser somewhere else while I delete your comment so that this community has a safe space cuz I can see none of you watched the video Other than that thanks for watching, love ya :)
Considering a Japanese historian recently confirmed that there was "no doubt" that Yasuke was a samurai, people who are upset are just bigoted at this point
EA doesn't care about making good games, they only care about making money. I still have the American McGee's Alice figures. The game industry is dead.
i think the IP of the characters are so large that PFG would have to royally screw this up for it not to be a commercial success no matter how much they lock the game behind a paywall - as annoying as it is having to either pay or grind through one of the most boring campaigns ever to unlock characters, i feel like game companies wouldnt keep using this model if it didnt work so i guess we have no one to blame but ourselves
The rooster teeth ips are going to another company they talked about it a couple weeks ago so rwby might not get in or pfg might still have the rights to put her in in or something
I saw someone else say that, but there's no official confirmation that any IPs have been sold yet, which means RWBY can easily be put in and due to how copyright works, Ruby Rose is so down the development pipeline that even if someone bought them now, the buyer would HAVE to agree with WB's past decisions of their IP usage. So Ruby is still probably gonna get in regardless unless WB themselves decide to take her out If anything I'd bet she was supposed to be a launch character when they released it a second time but they delayed her so they didn't release the character in the same month they shut down the studio, since I remember seeing her leaked since the Beta along with PPG and Samurai Jack, 2 characters who were ALSO in the Rick audio leak.
I don't blame Erica Lindbeck as AI Cover Artists are making fun out of her by disrespecting her talented character voices without consent. I wanna thank her friend Sean Chiplock for telling those AI Cover Artists to stop or he'll sue them as he has lawyers and attorneys. Since voice actors have legal rights to sue AI Cover Artists for various legal reasons.
Hi, despite disagreeing with many of the points in the video overall I still enjoyed it and hearing your takes as an obvious veteran and devoted fan and I wanted to share some of my opinions. I believe saying Bloober isn't good at making games is overall wrong as it takes less than a minute to see that the players who played these games, not just reviewers thoroughly enjoyed them. I think it was relieving to see Bloober was getting their shot considering their work in the horror genre of games, maybe you felt differently, totally fair. I also think complaints about the combat are strange, of course James is a normal man and part of the game is feeling like that but I think its safe to say that most people can strafe side to side. It was a gameplay trailer after all and they wanted to show off gameplay so having James avoid combat would be sort of silly. I think some of the, unfortunate, loss of that jank factor is there as there is a fine line between janky and unenjoyable controlling, especially when considering this was most likely made with pc first in mind, despite also of course coming to playstation. I have some experience with game design from high school and now in college and it can be tricky to find that perfect balance that feels faithful but satisfying utilizing modern controls, both keyboard and mouse and modern controllers as we have come a long way since ps2 controllers haha. I believe the original silent hill 2 utilized mocap as well, there are some cool videos BTS of this process, but of course in 23+ years that tech has come a long way so some of that inherent and admittedly lovable jank will be lost. I still hope we retain some of that stiff, somewhat awkwardness in the performance of the characters as I do think that was part of the charm. Also I think the in game cosmetics which I am definitely less of a fan of still offer a fun change of gameplay on subsequent playthroughs after the first as from what I could gather most people choose not to use extra cosmetics in their first runs anyways. As for the Mira head I think claiming it to be a spoiler for the ending is a bit silly because from an outsiders perspective it is just a cute dog with headphones that could become a funny realization after actually discovering the UFO ending, while the ones who know going in obviously can't be spoiled so it's just a lighthearted nod to the UFO ending. I think our beliefs come closest when it comes to Maria's redesign but I spent a lot of time looking into this because I am actually a character design major myself and I think I could offer some interesting insight! Maria's outfit while wildly different still fills a lot of the same jobs that the original did. Maria sports a red leather jacket, tall heeled brown boots, and a black dress, and of course her choker. I believe the intentions behind this design is to sort of liken to what a real life sex worker may be wearing outside of work or when being slightly inconspicuous. I believe if you removed the jacket it would look even more sexual. Something I also noticed is after rewatching the latest gameplay trailer her dress actually has a leopard print design on it, I could be wrong but if so that would just be a neat detail. I LOVE her 2001 design so much, I'm actually making a drawing using that design right now haha and I think it was cool that they borrowed it from Christina Aguilera's teen choice awards outfit from 1999 too and I will surely be missing it, but what I overall wanted to achieve with this novel of a comment is that when companies remake games, or really when anyone remakes anything, it is important that they bring their own ideas to the board, not to try and "raise it to a higher form" I think of things like the avatar show, but to give us THEIR silent hill 2. I hope the changes do not end up being too wildly overwhelming, which for some it already is, but it is hard to build a passionate remake if you are not allowing your team to make it THEIR remake. These changes most likely wouldn't have happened if the original Team Silent came back in full but I think that was a long shot haha. Obviously Silent Hill, even beyond 2 needn't changes to be genuine masterpieces of the horror genre as a whole but by not allowing Bloober to give their own personal touch, in my opinion, would possible leave us with a less satisfying remake. I have watched your video 2 and a half times through now so I hope I didn't misunderstand any of your points but I would love to hear what you think about mine! I admire your love for this game and series so I hope on release you may be pleasantly surprised as to what the final product comes out to be! Have a nice day :))
Oh wow, a nice written paragraph I guess I will respond First of all Bloober Team are not good. You can say fans like it but fans like Sonic 06 and that game...is horrendous. See what you need to do is discover an artists intent...so media literacy here. Right. It's a hard skill to learn but essential is applied to all art. So to reiterate all of Silent Hill 2's design was intentional. The stillness of the cutscenes, the janky combat, the narrative they wish to tell was all INTENTIONAL FOR A PURPOSE. Bloober Team is constantly immature as game developers as they are constantly thrusted into the public because "they are the horror game dev". The cutscenes are awkward and it doesn't seem intentional it seems like they're copying Silent Hill 2 and not knowing how it worked and even worse WHY the developers did it. They said in numerous interviews (which they suspiciously deleted) that they said the combat in the original sucked and they were gonna fix something. They don't understand why Maria was dressed the way she was. NakeyJakey did a really good video explaining this, like how the combat was clunky ON PURPOSE to form tension, which is why it's jarring that James can do a dodge roll. The designers intent on that decision feels like it is just to copy this idea from the Resident Evil remakes which are games built on ACTION, and not psychological horror, so they're fitting a square peg into a round hole here which seem like most new idea here. Steal from RE Remakes without any tact or knowledge of how it worked in RE and how it will work in Silent Hill This leads to your last paragraph is I don't want to see an Bloober Team version of Silent Hill 2 because they don't understand anything about the game other than face value. They never thought about why people liked the game or mainly, why the developers made the game the way it is. They don't understand that the UFO endings are a bonus after multiple playthroughs of the game and not something you go OMG LOL SO RANDOM. They don't understand that combat is supposed to be bad. This isn't me saying I want the game to be the same, I want us to make games better than Silent Hill 2, but they don't understand what they are remaking thus can not improve. Signalis and Crow Country are games inspired by Silent Hill 1 but they completely understood everything about Silent Hill 1 from a gameplay design and what the designers were trying to say with it's gameplay so in the end I think both those games succeed in their goal and are even better than what they are inspired by. And if it is a remake, then it needs to be different and refereshing. Resident Evil 2 remake is the same-ish plot and core gameplay but instead of a fixed camera angle, it's a third person game which felt refreshing as at the time, there were no games doing this. Now there's 2 remakes of horror games that play like Resident Evil Remake along with 2 other RE Remakes, so what is Silent Hill 2 doing that's so different. So you (not you specifically) are asking a lot for what I consider one of the greatest games ever made and hand it to a team who's known for mediocre walking sims, who obviously don't get why the game is good and in all honesty, looks like they're bandwagoning off the success of the RE remakes. And if THEIR version of Silent Hill 2 is just a Resident Evil 2 Remake mod, that's for 70 dollars and the first new game in a decade, you as a consumer deserve better. They should have just been given them IP to make their own Silent Hill game than be tied to a perfect game that didn't need a remake. Also the Avatar remake was dog doo meant to copy the original instead of being new. That's right, can't slip that by me One Piece remake would have been a better example because they did change the plot and kept the same narrative themes. K NO HARD FEELINGS THANK YOU FOR BEING NICE PLAY CROW COUNTRY
@@DCMGameShow I was glad to see your response and I totally think I am getting a better perspective on your opinions and where you are coming from and respect your discontent. I’m glad we were able to have a nice back and forth, and I definitely broadened my understanding of the issues that come with this remake. I just want to be clear with about two things, first is that despite my persistent optimism, I will still be critical of the product and still have some criticism of what we have seen already! And secondly when I brought up the avatar remake I meant to insinuate that it was bad because the creators thought they were raising it to a higher medium rather than truly respecting the source material, that show was TRASH!! Anyways thank for your time and have a great day!!
all this crap about remaking silent hill has convinced me to purchase copies of the originals, I have 2 and just ordered 4. My goal is to have copies of the original 4 games.
Ya'll just poped up on my feed recently. There's a telltale sign of the 'modern' gaming, and of course that's the obvious censorship and outright changing of established characters. I am glad that you care deeply about the lore, and accuracy of games that we've come to love, and will not be purchasing this remake. There is no need to reward bad behavior, and this over-the-top pricing and merchandising of a beloved series feels like having a funeral in the middle of a circus.
@@DCMGameShow I don't know if the game itself will be woke, I know the dev team themselves is all on board with ESG. What I do think is that they will still have to follow the set formula of SH2, while sanitizing and censoring parts. While these changes seem small they are taking away the subtlety of the original and they will either make it blown out of proportion, or wipe it away completely. For example... You remember when portal came out, everyone kept saying 'the cake is a lie! lol!'... over and over. Sure it was a subtle joke and not the best joke of the series, but those people kept spouting it like it was the funniest thing in the world? These same people are making SH2.
This is great, im glad i actually clicked a recommended for once You guys have a lot of passion that most of these gaming convo type shows just dont usually
Hasbro wants it after firing all the execs who worked with Larian for BG3.... and Larian ain't gonna do another BG so.... yea, Hasbro shot itself in the foot
I think everyone wants that but like, Larian ain't gonna make it so it's just gonna be a random jobber studio so there's NO WAY it's come close to 3, let alone top it :(
Maybe i'm just not Sony's demo but I can name probably a dozen IP's or characters that Nintendo has, for better or worse, milked for upwards of 35ish years now. Sony has... Crash? A lot of the ones i think of when i think "old school Sony" aren't exclusive to them (Tomb Raider, GTA, etc) they just had the market dominance af the PS2/PS3 era. They're not nearly a brand these days as just another platform and, i dont know if it'll end up killing them, but it's definitely not where they want to be.
The original technical issues was ages ago, certainly more than 4 months. so it wasn't a planned shutdown. Recent news is basically that they've given up on bringing it back
yknow overwatch would be a lot cooler if it was like guilty gear and called guilty gear strive and has a character called sin kiske as dlc and you could play as him for only 7 dollor
haha, "concept art", that's from the animated short, Jet's race has never been established, these are cosplay skins and not 1 to 1's so variants in design. Why did this come out 3 days ago yet the info they have is from before the release of the skins on live servers?
You're 5 years old if you devolve both Ed and Sombra into just "HACKER". One's literally a terrorist and the other is a nonbinary child who does it for fun.
