I don't know if you're anywhere near the Ashville flood disaster, but with all the material moved by the flood it would seem that area has a potential for a lot more gold than I've seen on one channel where some young newbie accidentally paned out a decent line in a few buckets. Now he's in the middle of dealing with survival. He's not a real prospector, just broke into it because he found a home made sluice and tried it. I hope they find out.
A guy hides his frying equipment in a creek. Oh man, that's crazy. Crawfish that have been swimming in gold taste particularly appetizing. Have a nice adventure, Lee ⚒👍🤠
Bandit, thanks for your long-time support of the channel. BTW, I have a high torque motor for the corn husker but I'm not sure it has enough a$$ to do what it needs to do but we shall see! My next hurdle is getting a strong enough weld or connection between the spindle and shaft connection points. I'm still looking for a coupler that will thread over the husker handle connection.
I'm sure there has been a completely new batch of gold laid down in Burke and McDowell and other gold rich mountain counties but nothing really new in Uwharrie to report.
I was actually there with Jon last Saturday. I've always found gold in that particular creek easily but just not anything that tips the scales very well.
Lol I loved when you were talking to the kid and Kristie’s age could have been exposed and everything went mute. Lol. That’s how a marriage stays together. Smart man.
Looks like you find another good spot there Lee but... if you go...just a hair past a nickel to the left's left of where that bedrock is, well that's right where them Leprechauns put it!! says Bigfoot...🤣 Good job Buddy!!! Don't Tell Jon 🤐
What's funny is that Jon went to that spot before I got there the next trip out and started prospecting it because it looked like it had been washed out in a rain storm due to how the roots were sticking out but intact. He showed me a nice pan he did from there 😂
Increase your gold recovered by learning the physics involved in dowsing, then placer mine the areas with the highest concentrations of gold. In the 1970's my father and I reverse engineered the physics involved in dowsing, then we invented the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod, so that we could locate our old core-drill on the exact center of the gold and silver veins that are buried under 200 feet of glacier rock and till, which worked out perfect for us. These dowsing physics and dowsing techniques are too important to the world for myself to selfishly take to the grave, so I wrote the book to teach the wold how to dowse, with marketing my book at the lowest price possible so that more people can buy my book and learn how to dowse. My book: The Art of Dowsing - Separating Science from Superstition ($14.95), by Michael Fercik, explains all the physics involved in dowsing (the same physics that energizes the alarm on electronic metal detectors), and teaches how to build the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod, which is the only dowsing rod that accurately gauges the element being dowsed by pitting the energy of gravity against the energizing of the pure one-tenth ounce dowsing rod load that is tapped onto the elevated acetylene welding rod, which free spins on ball bearings. Anyone can become a professional dowser by practicing my book's dowsing lessons of buried pipelines and electrical cables, tunnels and voids, precious and base precious metal placer and lode deposits, dowsing for treasure, dowsing for any element, amplified long distance dowsing from a moving vehicle, and dowsing on water from a boat. I hope dowsing enriches your life intellectually and financially.
what you are doing is called hydrowashing and while I support it, you might want to check your local laws. its been illegal for 100 years, i thought everywhere in the US. Maybe you shouldnt record yourself doing it.....
Oh, I'm sure there's a law against most everything I do 😀 and when they take me away in cuffs it's up to all y'all to post bond for me. Can I get an "Amen"? (I'm hearing crickets...)
Thanks Pinger! I just went to Great Clips the other day. They still aren't giving me a discount based on the amount of hair they actually have to cut. At least I'm getting some gold though 👍
I'm afraid you still need a Wash-Plant to Git Dat Goooold Brother 👀🦾🇺🇸👍 Watch out ,or Dave turning or Parker Schnabel will be in your "Honey Hole"🤪🧐🥴👍👀🦾🇺🇸
Lol, I don't get Poison ivy, or poison oak, Bro' 🧐😅I Love to watch you work, Lee, and that's Probably because it Doesn't hurt Me as much that way 🥴😆😎😎👍I thought "Henry" was a Copperhead, too, but the head is not triangular, so, Henry is just a water snake, after all.👀👌
sure has been a long time since I made any youtube content . ever since my old window 7 movie maker editing program died I just havent found a replacement to make them plus I never did monitize my channle
Ray, I miss your videos. I miss seeing the "Alaskan Queen" cruising through the bay. I liked the one where the Alaskan lady came and visited you on the travel channel too. She was one brave lady to ride with you! I go down in open holes 10' deep without care but I would need thermal underwear 🩳 and a life preserver 🛟 to sail around on the Alaskan Queen 🤣
Anybody that includes two and four legs children in prospecting videos deserves my LIKE and becoming a NEW SUBSCRIBER. I am going to take this opportunity to introduce my book to you for helping in your prospecting endeavors. Learn the reverse-engineered physics involved in dowsing and how to build the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod for gauging with physics everything about the element being dowsed for, by reading my book: The Art of Dowsing - Separating Science from Superstition ($14.95), by Michael Fercik. I hope dowsing enriches your life intellectually and financially.
May not seem like alot but that is certainly worth mining even of done part time. If me i would run enough of the gravel and decomposed layer. Just so its safe enough to find bedrock and any other layers holding pay.
Yes, it's fairly decent pay but just a whole lot of overburden to move around to get to it and the water table being so shallow presents another set of problems though that would make dredging a possibility. I doubt Tim wants to make a mess of things but I'm certainly willing to help if he does 🤣
Someone I know with a geology background said the blue/green layer looked like the dump from old workings. I'm hoping to get him there in person to look into it further.
Now that you know the gold is there , you can start to bench your hole .Every six foot down bench four feet to each side .You do not want the walls to collapse on you or your buddy . Are you near the old Parker mine ? I am in Cabarrus County .
Thanks for the good advice. Cotton Patch is the name of Tim's campground and there's a pay-to-play gold mine and campground called Mountain Creek bordering his property.
You would have done better if you took three feet or so of overburden from a much bigger spot and process only the top foot or so of material above the bedrock my friend
If Tim didn't mind us tearing his yard up that might be an option. Then again, what's a little Kentucky 31 and seven bales of straw compared to a couple grams of gold! 🙂
The gray clay could be decomposed quartz. When you grind quartz to below 200 mesh it is almost always blue. If there is iron staining it will also have an orange hue to it. If so the gold you found maybe gold released from the quartz rocks you were finding with your material. I would send some off for fire assay or perhaps you might want to crush and grind some with your small impact mill and then pan and see.
Yes, that would account for the sandy grit that was in that layer too. I think rock crushing will be an upcoming chapter and has been the historical bread and butter of that particular area. So much fun to be had and so little time to do it in 😊
Usually the better gold is on the bedrock but it depends on the geology of the area! One thing is certain. The color of gold brings a smile to the face!
That seems to make the most sense, but I can't figure out why the gray clay layer lies directly on hard bedrock that is only fractured in the creek. The rock in the creek that is fractured does not have any green tint to it.
Beautiful Copperhead there, Lee🧐👀‼️more shiny than you Think in that old flood plain, but you would need a Wash-Plant and an excavator to get it out 🤔‼️👍
That's awesome 👍. I've been wanting to try the same process. I think we have a lot of gold trapped in this area. It would be nice to open up the hole, make it safe and drop in the dredge
Yes, I don't want to get too crazy though with pushing the envelope. Tim has given me a lot of latitude to try things I can't on public land. It really is like going to an amusement park for me. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@LeeHendrixGold Absolutely an amusement playground. I was thinking about maybe a 20' square max at one time with a nice slope for safety. Just always be safe. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!!
