Can you guys point me to any media that doesn't display mechs in such weird and unrealistic ways? Seeing them do acrobatics, fire weapons one handed (or weapons in place of hands), and shoulder mounted heavy weapons just bothers me. I want to see something that is believable and that also isn't "plot armored" to the extent that it's the peak of technology in its setting. By that last part I mean that they're supposed to be a part of combined arms warfare, not a replacement, so I don't want to see them defeat medium-heavily armored opponents with extreme ease. I see these kinds of things (exo-suits and robots too) blow tanks up with the flick of a wrist and that's just stupid.
One out of 10 got through??? What idiot in the command center planned this attack... Such a waste. Attacking a waiting troop in an open field. I can do that better as an amateur. (Never do what the opponent expects, the art is to know what the opponent expects from you)
@@bryanwells2890 In fact, I WAS there to see VHS come on line along with Sony Betamax! And NEVER have I come across ANY dubbed version of ANY of the "Armored Trooper Votoms" series! And THAT'S the point I'm stating.
@@fredhercmaricaubang1883 really i owned the whole series look it up on google or ebay and i guess you never heard of sunrise who was the ones that dubbed it on vhs
Votoms is demonstrating what power and command over lives from a comfy remote chair does to a person. Play a Paradox game like Crusader Kings or Europa to get a tiny simulated taste of it. "If I just send my 14 thousand man army here... then my 70 thousand man army should be able to slip in here, to take the capital before the enemy returns. I can afford that amount of losses."
The problem is more the tactics are just idiotic and wasteful in terms of efficiency. You want air power to soften an area for an attack like this in the first place, sending mechanized "infantry" straight up the beach in such a manner is just plain stupid. Or for that matter naval bombardment would also achieve good results, as the anime seems to make the frequent mistake of assuming in actual D-Day the glut of front facing guns were active/the main defenses were front facing. They were on the flanks of the beach as both they could survive the preceding bombardment, and catch infantry in a crossfire.
