What is the static load a vw amarok roof can take? I know that the manufacturer load rating of 100kg is usually dynamic so im curious if itd be able to take the weight of a tent + 1 or 2 people

Very helpful vid - does anyone know if, when the 2 captains chairs (2nd row) are removed, can you slide the 3 seat bench all the way forwards, so you effectively end up with a 5 seater with a load of space behind the bench for bikes etc? Thanks!
Hi John - Yes once you slide the two captains chairs forward and remove them you can then slide the triple bench seat all the way to the most forward position to have an incredibly large rear load space. As a side note this is also whether triple bench seat would need to be to remove it from the vehicle as well (I.e. through the side sliding doors not through the rear tailgate)
Hi Mark , great systems , can the fold over split bed system be incorporated with the Vanessa rear kitchen system? Obviously with the 56cm height kitchen module so as to clear the single captains chairs. I have searched the web site and Vanessa sites but can’t seem to find it . I assume if you have the kitchen module you could buy the bed section to add to it but can’t find costings or images of it. Ta Chris
Hi Rob yes the folding flat bench seat is designed for sleeping on particularly when using the deluxe comfort memory foam mattress. And yes the rear bench seat has three child anchor points with iso fix as well as top together at the back of the seat for all three positions :) happy travels!
I work at VW in Wolfsburg, I live 100kms away from Hannover where these cars are made. You can imagine that I know a whole bunch of people involved in the production process. Hi Mike - thanks for the positive comments and glad the videos are helpful!! It is not possible to put the captain's chair in the middle rails - the two centre rails are only for the pop-up table
Just come across this great video. I'm running this exact config (MultiVan/Caravelle and Ikamper 4 berth) complete with the Vanessa rear window packs. Works brilliantly for a family of 5. Just need the kitchen now.

In the UK this vehicle is known as the Shuttle. The Caravelle in the UK is the same as the Multivan with sliding tracks on the floor for seats and table.
Thanks for video. My van seats are really heavy and hard to move. Do you have amy trick to make the smoother. To me what you did in the back seat is nearly impossible I almost break my back trying to push seat a little forward
Yes these seats can be installed to a T5 Transporter. They are manufactured by Techsafe in QLD - just give them a call and they can point you to your nearest installation expert.
Yes the Techsafe seat can be purchased but best to have it installed by a professional. It will require an engineering inspection and a vehicle identification change for the increase in seating capacity.
