the name's Jay, a plain average 17-year-old weather radio/EAS enthusiast from both Charlotte & Concord, North Carolina, uploading NOAA Weather Radio related content (as one does) on this small channel bubble of mine, with a variety of content including broadcast cycles, EAS alerts, weather products, NWR DXes, whatever else that goes through the airwaves of NWR that i get are all on here
if you’re curious on the consistency of my channel (if you even were), i don’t have a schedule on my uploads so i just upload randomly whenever's the chance
i first got introduced to weather radios/EAS alerts, along with weather in general, since 2/6/2020, when there was a severe weather event (ENH risk) in my area that got me into them as an interest/hobby
i currently own 17 WX radios, but the RadioShack 12-254, 259, and 991 (the radioshack trio basically) are the 3 radios that are the most featured in my videos
(formerly "JayGSPWXEAS") and yeah that’s all you need to know here i guess
basically like say, if in this case, a national weather service office were to have a day where any person can visit their office this being exactly what that statement product (in the video) had read out
yep, as you guessed there definitely was tropo involved in the mix, especially as this was during the early-morning hours (which are usually favorable for tropo conditions to appear)
1:18 This includes the following streams and drainages: BEAVER creek. BEAVER DAMN creek. MUSCLES creek. CUM creek. Camp Branch 🙂. CRANBERRY creek. Big-Tree Branch. CAMP creek. Big Warrior Creek. CUM creek. Arnold Branch and Big Bungaloo Creek..... REEEEK REEEEK REEEK
hey fella just letting you know this video may be illegal in your region EAS alerts are federally regulated and can get you prosecuted because the can cause a domino effect some EAS alerts watch open frequencies the buzzing sounds are audio packets please be careful with such sensitive materials www.fcc.gov/document/fcc-issues-enforcement-advisory-misuse-eas-and-wea
ain't no way you got a twister (1996) themed rave going on there lol I wish i had this equipment when i was your age though because that was like my main obsession then
i don't have the recording in my photo library anymore, but i do know that it was read at the top/start of the hour (of the hour i filmed KHA35's cycle on) in fact, across CAE's 8 transmitters (including WXK54 and WXJ20 that you've received recently), they do station IDs at the top/start of each hour
