i thought maybe bitbox mk2 would be better for breaks so i sold the erica but sample drum was way faster at it, sample drum is crazy good at what it does!
@@varial303 exactly! The only thing that was bothering me is formatting the Samples, bitbox is really is on that you can put any samplerate audio Stereo but its not as fast as the erica unfortunately
My fav is the Blu Mar Ten Jungle 1989-1999, not royalty free but I feel less bad about using it when I learned that the Mentasm sound was just sampled from the Joey Beltram track back in the day
Could definitely work, the clocks would be perfect for triggering, could definitely be fun using the LFO and stepped random modes for sequencing the slices but you mind find you want something with per step control after a while
Love it!🔥I love the jungle you make but I'm absolutely terrified about diving into eurorack :P Is the Blackbox only used for sequencing? That and the Microfreak are the only gear we have in common :)
Thanks for the support! You can definitely make some dope jungle with just the blackbox and the micro freak. I just use the blackbox on the side for extra samples but you can easily make full tracks with it, the new song mode is super useful for making different scenes to jump between.
@@varial303 Thanks, I'll give that a shot. I was exploring the Excl. Group mode to play different breaks which choke against each other, which turned out quite fun. I'll give the song mode a shot and see how it can be arranged. Look forward to more jams from you :)
The Sample Drum is perfect for this, recently got a Bitbox mk2 to replace it but it really didn't do it for me. Switched back the the Sample Drum pretty quick.
I’ve considered that swap to get more channels but you can get so much out of just 2 channels with the sample drum. Although I do have a 1010 blackbox on the side for more sampling
I haven’t played it much with midi but I think you are right. It doesn’t go very low for a so called “bass” synth but I think it might be the same range as the original 303
I use breaks that are already sped up and I slice and sequence them in the modular using the Erica Synths Sample Drum, I have a video explaining the technique on my channel. I just use the blackbox now for extra sound effects and vocal loops but I have used it for my drums in the past. Thanks for listening! 👊
