I can. I bought one from a reseller at a great price and later found out that it's fake. Real silver, but not made by Gucci. Since that purchase I only by Gucci items straight from them, nowhere else, to be 100% sure it's real. What makes you think yours is fake? Does it have a size number on the inside? 16, 17, etc? The real ones do, the fakes I've seen do not. Also, check their website. See which direction "Gucci" is printed on the inside. The fakes I've see have it facing the opposite direction, upside down as compared to the original.
Best thing to do though is go to the store and look at a real one. You'll be able to see the difference right away. But don't bring the possibly fake one into the store unless you're willing to give it up. They may not let you leave with it. Posesing counterfeits is a crime, even if you mistakingly thought it was real when you bought it. Gucci is quite serious about protecting their brand
