In this example, to batch rename files in a folder on macOS, open Terminal, then: 1. cd /Path/to/pdf-files-folder 2. input "for file in *[0-9]*.pdf; do mv "$file" "$(echo "$file" | sed 's/^[0-9]*\.//')"; done" and press enter to run In our case, it is to remove the leading digits and dots from all the pdf files. This custom data mapping feature mainly solves several use cases, including: 1. The PDF Form has many PDF fields, while you only need to populate a few of them from your Excel data; 2. The PDF Form has out-of-order PDF fields. And you want to populate the PDF fields using the order of the Excel Data columns, rather than re-creating the PDF form.

If you're following the example in the video, the N1 Rent Increase Form(tribunalsontario.ca/ltb/forms/) needs to be unlocked, simply drag and drop here(smallpdf.com/unlock-pdf ) to get the unlocked PDF.

This Excel Data-Mapping approach applies to several user scenarios, including but not limited to: 1. PDF Fields is out of order. And you want to Map Excel Data to PDF Fields according to your own order. 2. You have a PDF file with hundreds of fields but you only need to auto fill some of them; The key here is to use the built-in feature to "Generate" a template sheet and then map your own sheet of data to this template using Excel Formula. Great tool, but it does not order the fields numerically from top to bottom. Field 7 the first field on my pdf, thus the tool is useless. If you could change the field older this would be golden.

Here's how you can do it: 1. Open PowerShell Press Win + X and select "Windows PowerShell" from the Power User menu. Navigate to the Directory: Use the cd command to navigate to the directory containing the files you want to rename. 2. Use the following PowerShell script to rename the files. If you need to support non-latin languages, and you see some characters are not displayed as expected, you can try to use Custom Font. To give it a try: 1. Download a font package that supports your language from Google Fonts to your local machine - fonts.google.com/, 2. Select the .ttf file from the downloaded font package in Step 3 when using Power PDF Filler, as showed in this video. 3. Start the job and check if it matches your expectation.
