I was born in Norwich, (1945 ) moved to Great Yarmouth in 1957 , when my father was superintendent for South Deans power station. We lived on Seafield Close . I could see the model village from my bedroom, good times. Thank you for the memories. And good luck in your filming adventures. Oh, by the way, you’re right about the Roller coaster. Viewing from Vancouver. 😎😎😎
Have not been here since mid 90's. I can hardly recognise the place. Like you say great for those with young children/family short break. You can always leave the park and trek into Skegness itself. Might consider revisit now were grandparents!
Can I just add I’m a regular to Butlin’s and plans are in place to replace the skyline tent and expand it over the pool entrance etc. it’s a 2yr project but is in the pipeline and also for the other two sites
The Kapsalon-dish was 'invented' by a hairdresser in Rotterdam who ordered some favourite foods at his favourite snackbar. Döner - Fries - Cheese - Sauces - Salat. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kapsalon
Hi,thanks for your comment. I was actually a very keen biker back in the 80s.i was sadly running low on time by the time I got to the bikes. I'm not so keen on the newer ones and tried to look for the bikes that I was familiar with back in the day.sadly there wasn't that many to find at the time of filming and they also came and went periodically. Point taken though and I hope you enjoyed the rest of the video, kind regards Andy
@@affordableholidays Hi Andy It was a poor turn out for bikes on Saturday not sure why? was lacking old school bikes should have gone on my Slabside 1100 Any way great vid
I went in May half term and my kids really enjoyed it as did i. The only downside is the pool is still not fully open so subject the booking on the plus side though they offer free skating and circus
Hi, I've booked 8 nights here with my teenage daughter. Do you need a visa & if so, can you purchase this when you arrive at the airport ? As im getting mixed answers when looking online. We got 8 nights / flights/ insurance/ private taxi to the hotel, and it's £1k for us both the best deal i could find, i went with the same travel company as you
Hi,thanks for your comment. You can get a visa on arrival at the airport and they cost $25 u.s per person.you can pay in euros or Egyptian pounds however you don't get fleeced on the exchange rate if you do.we took $50 dollars with us which we got from Tesco money exchange in England before we went. The Egyptians are very pushy at the airport to make sure you have paid it.By the sounds of it you got a better deal than we did on this holiday cost, however the hotel is definitely not 5*so your best to go open minded,I would also recommend avoiding the ice in the bars if offered, have a lovely time and please let me know how you got on,I did try to be fair in my review of the place, kind regards Andy
@affordableholidays thanks very much for this information, at it's put me at ease knowing I can purchase the visa when I arrive. I will do what you said and exchange some dollars. I will let you know how it goes & maybe I'll make a video. Take care

Just come back from here last week, stayed in a gold apartment. Entertainment, swimming and fair was very good, food was not bad at all really, the only downside was the accomodation, very outdated and looks terrible, but what do you want for £300 a week?
Hi,thanks for watching and commenting. I think price is an important factor as you've said.i think that if you've got it at a fair price then you can overlook it's imperfections, kind regards Andy
Stayed back in the day 1976 !!!! The Funfair was massive and every ride was FREE, Mono Rail was just Amazing , this was when you had Holiday ads on TV as well.
Hi,thanks for your comment. The prices at Butlins for drinks is not cheap as is the case for most holiday parks. The cost of most drinks especially a 25ml shot plus a mixer is around £6.00 ,hence if you have more than 4 drinks in a day, then it offers good value, kind regards Andy
Nothing wrong woth butlins. People moaning its run down ect. As long as my kids are having a good time. The rooms i habe syayed in have bewn clean and tidy and the food has always been good. Typical british seaside holiday. Embrace and enjoy it.
What you won’t find is litter not like our towns and cities due lack of respect to others staff at Butlins are up at 4/5 in the morning cleaning the place up due to morons can’t be bothered to find a bin .
Lot of snobbery people who couldn’t have a good time if they tried we took the grand kids they loved it . Food great staff friendly more staff behind the bar would be good but that’s the same everywhere . You could paint the place every year and it stilll would look like it needs a paint due to the corrosive salt in the air.
Hi ,thanks for your comment. There was access as far as the beach for wheelchairs but I'm not a 100% sure if there was access onto the sand, hope this helps, kind regards Andy
We went in the new lodges for 2024. 4 weeks ago we had a great time the food was brilliant the staff had time for the kids and adults Never been before Haven't been on holiday for 25 years and took 3 grandchildren 3 adults could not ask for anything more loved it 🎉
I went to butlins for 24 yrs. Not as good as it was. Gone down hill. Accommodation looks very scruffy.skyline does too. My kids are older now 22 and 19 not as fun i miss those days when they were younger. Last time we were there my son who was 16yrs time got threatened by a gang of lads. One time i could let them walk around by them selves in butlins. Since they opened up to 9.50 holidays it's gone really down hill. Transportation is dire to skegness. If you have no car. . Entertainment complex was bursting at seams now built more caravans its going to get worse. I'm ambulatory use wheelchair to get out about but the accommodation is not suitable to get my wheelchair thru etc Used to see bill bonny butlin characters don't anymore all money money extra. You can go abroad cheaper now than butlins. Sadly lost its sparkle.
@@affordableholidays I miss those days....when they were young. Butlins used to have mini indoor ride thing for toddler's so much more gone now. That was good. I think also socueties changed too. Good for little ones.misz those days
