I bought my Master Airscrew balsa stripper years ago and it's the most used tool in my kit. The commentary on strip quality/stiffness is spot on. Thanks for sharing.
That is turning into one fine little model. I love the open frame, old school construction. People who've never done it don't fully understand how light and nimble this kind of construction is. I'm sure it'll make a good flier.
Wonder how many parts you'll have left over at the end of the build? There's always a screw left over when I put something back together. Nice work, enjoying this build, thank you
Well done. Was thinking about building one of these but with my big hands I think it will be more frustrating..thinking I will stick with foam or balsa for an indoor flyer.
Wow - nice to see this build Mark. It's brought back happy memories of building this model in 1978 as a young teenager. I flew many times free-flight - then added RC with my first pay packet in 1980 - it was too heavy and didn't last long. This was before lightweight rc gear was available.
Itried those snakes in my 62 inch popsie I'm bulding. Couldn't get 'em slop free. (same with closed loop). I went for a traditional push rod for the elevator and a mini servo in the tail with a direct linkage to the rudder (which does add some weight to the tail but we'll see what happens).
Good start Mark, the stickers are very sticky, I found sometimes it's a good idea to put either soapy water or saliva where they need to go just to give them a little 'slideability' 👍
I think the glue is pronounced yoo-hoo (UHU) Por, and I think it's pretty much a universal glue and seems to bond just about anything together! Great vid Mark, but your hands were out of camera shot most of the time...too far up in the top right corner!
