Bro, Natural disaster can happen anywhere but in Nigeria which is essentially a prisoner of nations, people mock disaster victims. Where is that crowd that routinely mock "erosion ravaged land" or dot in a circle then turn around to demand grazing rights in the dot? Where are they now?
Some people whk call themselves lagosians should know that floods are inevitable. Look at that one of Dubai, the most developed cities in the world; but yet it got overwhelmed by floodings that it lasted for some days.make we no dey point fingers jare. If them wan do drainage for lag many businesses would be seriously affected, because they would need to build a suwer that would be able to sink water.
A mess. Lagos has poor town planning. No proper drainage if any. The poor roads and traffic will continue, flooding will erode the value of properties. Lagos will continue to be the place of mayhem.
Lekki has been a peninsula for millennia, with natural bodies of water. With urban sprawl and poor drainage/flood mitigation strategies on the part of the government. We shouldn’t be surprised. Nature is only taking it’s course since man has no regards or ability to manage his environment. This is a joined up role for Ministry of Works, Environment as well as, the Ministry of Urban and Regional Planning. Heavy Civil Engineering in designing city wide management of storm drainage. An expensive venture but necessary. Sand filling and selling land for building houses makes the problem worse as Flash and Storm flooding Lekki is a flood plane. There is a reason why Nature made Lekki a peninsula. Lekki will soon become a Slum just like Ajenunle, and other parts of Lagos.
THIS IS A SHAME NO WATER VACUUMING TRUCK FOR FLOODING IN 2024 THIS TYPE OF TECHNOLOGY IS AVAILABLE FOR CONSTRUCTION COMPANY JULIUS BERGER SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR NOT BEING EQUIPPED WITH WATER VACUUMED TRUCKS TO SUCK THE EXCESSIVE FLOODING WATER
When you build a road you suppose build drainage. Simple as ABC. Poor engineering job. Also learn not to block waterways. Praying for my Nigerian people.
This is nothing yet! A nation without intelligent leaders is bound to suffer. The developers are busy claim waterways and lakes when other nations are actually creating artificial lakes..
The main issues here is the nonchalant attitudes of the people dumping refuse in the canals and drainage. Another issue is overbuilding of estates on top of drainages. When corruption have ridicule the whole government system in the country. No proper surveyors. Lagos is below sea level and most people living in the islands will soon be wash off by water. There’s no proper drainage and the area is overpriced with bad infrastructure. I will rather invest such money to buy properties in the US or Uk instead of a place that’s not well maintained. Nigeria can only build but lacks maintenance.
Thiefnubu built Lagos alrightForget that the British annexed the Protectorate of Lagos in 1861 and international cash has been flowing into that space ever since. But the Thiefnubu effect bankrupted the city-state by looting their resources beyond reasonable doubt
This place is not well developed. Lagos infrastructure is so annoying. What sort of life is this? What kind of country is this? Our leaders need to be sent out of their various positions of power. They aren't fixing our problems. Revolution now!
Please lets not make excuses. They dont get flooaded every raun season like lagos. Im glad the govt is working on the drainage system tho. @@ikemmanuel7859

This is one of the best of a very few parts of the country that actually looks clean with well developed roads. The vast majority of the city is very filty and dominated with unpaved roads, some of which are complemented with little land fills on some streets. The West and East sees the paving of all roads as a basic infrastructural necessity while we see it as a thing to be done in preferred neighborhoods. Very, very sad indeed. Dirt roads only increases air pollution, causes lung illnesses and keep the environment dirty
Have you even been to Nigeria? It has one of best road networks on the continent....Roads, highways link all the states, towns and cities. Akwa Ibom state alone has better road networks than some countries in Africa. Leave that your small village, travel and cure your ignorance
@@blackcoraltv6787 I don't think you understand what best road network is until you either look up the definition of road network or experience traveling or living in countries with true definition of road network
Great video Wole. You took some unusual footages of the metro especially on your way back to Marina. Somewhere before the National Theatre station is where the two trains usually meet. Could be a nice view for a future footage.
I saw this vision of connecting a bridge from Lagos to calabar in 2015 inside a flight coming back from south Africa to Nigeria.. I was watching on a google map when the flight was landing 🛬 I noticed that the distance from Lagos to calabar isn’t that much far is just water that divided them, is that day I dream of connecting a big bridge between the 2 cities, thank God today government has remembered it
