I always loved this jam BUT this sounds absolutely terrible. They need to pay a synthesizer manager to edit vocalist and instrumentalist. Seems like everyone is doing their own thing and not focusing on a single group sound. I've played in several no-name groups and we had a better sound than this. Don't get me wrong, I'd be all over the floor slippin and slidedn on this jam.
Sad,you can't replace the original members of Lakeside. Mark I wish you would sat down with the old fellas and work your differences out. I just love my original members of Lakeside and ther showmanship and musicianship.

This is just as bad as Rick James Stone City Band where there's like 5 different versions of the group. You might have 1 original member and the rest are fakes.....smh
This was a put together solo band NOT LAKESIDE! IT TAKES TIME THIS WAS A BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR A BUYER ITS HIS PARTY SO HE, AS YOU SEE RUNNING AROUND THE STAGE BUT It was his party not for your consumption. HE THE BUYER WAS SATISFIED. Sorry but not LAKESIDE nor did I sell it as such at that time.
Where's the Pirate Ship,the the ORIGINAL backing vocals,the original musicians & the fantastic original live performance??All gone!Replaced by some half Ass musicians & non funky replacement backing vocal rubbish.Absolute complete trash!What a shame.Get real or get off the stage.This is a total waste of EVERYBODY'S time!!!
I saw Lakeside in north Pomona back in 75 when they where known ohio lakside express then in the early 80's in StLouis...Mark and the original members shoul've worked thingz out...
It looks like Lakeside is touring two bands with the same name. This one has the original lead singer Mark, and the other one has all the original band with Otis Stokes back, but with out Mark A Wood. But added a singer from Dynasty and also a new lead.
Too be honest, there is not too much difference in the sound. What's missing is keyboard looping sound effects, choreography and costumes etc. Funk is one of the easiest thing on the planet to emulate. Another positive is that any band playing lakeside music can still help steer new fans/customers to purchase orginal mp3s and/or video sales and preserve the name of Lakeside! Even the original cats shouldn't hate. However 20 minutes is a little long for one song. Just my opinion.
+Teddy D Well from my standpoint of view this band of Lakeside sound like shyte yeeaa I saw them in concert April 23 2016 at The Pan African Festival in Macon Ga also on the card was Brick and Brick should have been the headliner. What you have here is the original singer with a hired band being that he came from a self contained band..and that hired band will never gel with Mark as the original members would..had Mark been a solo artist..he could change a band at will and whip them into shape for shows now on the other hand you have the Original Lakeside guys with a hired singer Mark Woods replacement ok those guys are gonna nail the Lakeside sound without a doubt but what will be missing will be the dynamics of Mark Woods voice..the replacement will never be able to capture that but the music will be there in full force. I have never seen the Original Lakeside only their videos and even with that I can safely say the replacement is doing his best..btw I will have to put up with the same Mark Woods Lakeside today at The Soul Food Festival in Evans/Augusta Ga..not gonna expect too much from them but I will still enjoy the show cause it's loaded with funk..The Barkays..Midnight Star..Zapp..Slave..Ohio Players (and I hope they have found themselves a Sugarfoot)..Rick James Stone City Band.
TurboMan51 You are right, no one can replace the long hours and hard work the original Lakeside has put in. Finding last minute replacements with one or two, even a year worth of rehearsals can not compete with over 30 year of pure hard work the originals guys put in.
+EMMANUEL CRUZ I agree and the reason is..all those bands were/are self contained..real music..playing their own instruments..today a lot of these none talent fools go into the studio and hide their voices behind machines then get on the stage live and can't reproduce what took place in the studio.
