A model (transporter-California) with an incredible history, with constant evolutions but without losing its DNA over decades and everything, to end up being a FORD with a VW logo. What a shame! VW has lost its way.
I have always been VW , had all the transporters and caddy’s , still have a modified t6.1 what I love . Bought the new custom for work and as a van it’s good , but the engine is a let down . Massively notice it is different . Loud , sluggish and lacks response . Luckily I have a sport mode I can put it in and then it drives a little better . My custom has a 136ps 2.0ltr engine - needs improving IMO . I’m not really fussed about the wet belt thing , keep on top of the servicing , and it’s not different at to any lottery with a mechanical engine IMO . New van looks great I think a lot of VW enthusiasts will hate the engine . All I can say is it drives like a transit because what I have is a transit . If VW can make it drive differently they are in for a winner . I’d rather drive my t6.1 over the new platform , no amount of features will change that .
This is very sad for me. I've been driving VW Type 2s since the early 80s: T3 x3, the best one had a water cooled 2.1L boxer; the T4 x2, the T5 and now a T6. Each one has done around 400k kms and I've still managed to get a decent price for them when sold. VWs are MUCH better than Fords. The Peugeot/Citroen/Toyota is too small to carry my motorcycle. The Crafter is too big.
@@babufrik8112 it's honestly so different from indium grey. I've had a few vans that colours. Anyway, as long as it matches the green 911, I'm happy. Yes the engine bay has been painted too.
Very awesome color. I've got a t6 highline 204 horse 4 motion Double slidingdoor. Lowered . But i'm getting hooked on the t5 first model. So the t6 will be sold and it will be an short white black bumpers panel. Slammed to the max ( in germany it won't be as much as i wanted. Keep up the cool work✌️🤙
Always ran VW for my business and I’ll run my 6.1 for another 12 months then probably get one of the pug/renault variants. If I’m going to buy vans with shit engines I might as well spend half the money.
Is this not another example of thinking we have a "choice" but we don't really have one? It's called a VW however it's really a Ford. It's like walking into a sweet shop and think, wow there are so many different sweets. Yet they are all made of the same ingredients in the same factory with very slight changes. Giving the illustrations of "choice". Like political parties?
It’s a pile of crap. Ford has had to make constant changes to there engines constantly due to ongoing issues. Also that touchscreen only means of controlling ac ,heating etc is a driving hazard
engine from Ford- all I need to hear really. How can VW put that horrible wet belt engine is mad. At least they could have got a better engine as the body is nice. I bet they are all just gearing up towards electric-only vans. The platform looks like it is made for EV really.
Like always another fantastic video am loving the colour even though the video probably doesn’t do it justice I should imagine the pair of them together look awesome 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍
Guys your mouths are saying one thing but your faces are struggling to mask your and everyone else’s feelings. I’ve had vw vans from 1990. 2.4 LT PETROL a range of diesel ones, t 25 pick ups and vans, t4s and now my t5.1 you pointed out that vw has expressed THIS IS NOT A T7. But a new transporter. Looks like they are disengaging the “t 6.1 and previous as this is no longer going to be legendary. I found it almost patronising the new pick up is only vw. It looks cool but really! 99% of hard core transporter owners have and need the van.
New , yeh I knew there was two different ones , it’s a lovely shade I commented on your Facebook with a picture /video of it on genuine bbs LM’s , it will look epic towing the Porsche 🎉
The colour is 👌 loving seeing the progress on this van…always loved the pre face lift T5 and this paint job has just highlighted how stunning these vans are😍🤩 the only downside…I want mine looking at mint!😁
Love the colour but my T6.1 Bulli seems to have the same colour or could it be that it doesnt show on the vid My t6.1 is indium grey looks almost identical
If you can get the tint on the lights (as well as body paint and wheels) same on 911 & T5 they'll match like Swan Vesta. Scenic roof on the transporter too if you're asking my opinion, and you're not...😎🤙
