Thanks for putting this together and sharing. My mom and I watched this movie together when I was a kid. Sadly she has passed but this helps bring back those memories.
Great video, my husband and I will be going this year and it helped get an idea of what to expect. I also loved your dress, I'm still struggling with what to wear and yours looked perfect.
Thanks to you, I think I had a nice past trip. I went to all of the movies 40 years ago and the 1910s in the movies. Everyone seems to be the main character of somewhere in time in your vlog. I hope I have a chance to go to Mackinac Island.
I didn't mind the piano, but I hated the fake drum music. Please stop jigging and swinging the camera so much. It makes people sick. Maybe try a gimbal or a gyroscope?
Too bad a whole apartment is probably over 1,000 a night...lol But screw it. 50 years, and few to none of us will still be here. Even if you're very young
that is definitely on the list of things to do... for a college pych paper i wrote a piece, if i went back in time to a place murdered somebody and went back to my original time would i be a murderer? i loved that movie even before i understood it.
Wonderful video, enjoyed it thoroughly, especially not able to travel during covid-19 felt like traveling with you and your family. Love the movie, a classic, one of my favorites.
I must be very sentimental about the story line of Somewhere in Time...tears here...have you ever met someone who you felt you had known previously ??😌🌈 One day we will stay at the Grand Hotel ☺️ you better believe it....thanks!!
I love the DAD !!!! This is a bit much lol hahaha you know who's paying lol Actually woman are different than men they know this might be a one time deal so they go all out classy and full spoiling top notch which agree with this as awesome..
I’m confused about the orchestra. If everyone is dressed in early 1900s clothing and this convention is based on “Somewhere in Time”, then why is the orchestra playing 1940s type music? The entire experience should be based in early 1900s especially considering the cost in that hotel. That being said, thanks for posting this great video. I’d love to do this one day and it’s on my bucket list for sure.
What a great video! Was the little theater on that land,or did they make it up? Was there more then one location to visit? Your dresses were marvelous, the nicest there ! The hotel could have given the dinner band some costumes. The people looked nice. Some of them looked like they go every year and maybe live near there. The hotel itself is beautiful as I imagined it still was.But it seemed more of the staff could have been in character,or maybe they could have sprinkled a couple of actors in there to push the mood in the right direction. The men look so nice in the clothes from that era.And once more, you and your friend,,those dresses were just gorgeous!!!Ive never seen nicer, and I look at those a LOT on the sites that sell them.
Thank you so much :) I think the theater that you're talking about what where they had the jazz music playing in the evenings. There are definitely people that go every year and I think it would be a good idea to have characters from the movie roaming around. That would make it more fun :)
Thank you for Sharing this vlog! My boyfriend was the one who told me about this movie and I instantly loved it! I am currently reading the novel. When I saw it was a Richard Matheson novel I just knew I had to read it. Which mentions The Hotel Del Coronado Hotel 2 hours south of me. I know I will visit there soon but I would just love to do this Somewhere In Time weekend! How magical it looks. The movie always brings me to tears it’s so beautiful. We are in Southern California one of these days I will get there.
