finally somebody said it!!! as a person growing up in different cultures due to parents transfer jobs through childhood, accents go on a frenzy! thank you for saying it!!
I’ve been following you since 2020, and honestly, you inspired me to put content out there! Super grateful ! you have always been an inspiration to me! So happy that you are in Mumbai; working towards your dreams! Kinda seeing you fulfil my dream too🩵 so happy for you!
I have come to the conclusion that people criticizing Dr Swift for writing from a young perspective is akin to condemning JD Salinger for giving Holden Caulfield an immature, egotistical and often unlikable voice. He was an "anti-hero" as well. Taylor tries so hard to be pious and perfect in her life and image, but in her art she is getting more bold, you can hate the character she is writing from, without hurting her feelings. It's a big step. TTPOD seems like it will be her "Catcher in Rye", and she is going to go into film making and end her pop star phase.
Not an ardent swifty. I'm old, an audiophile and literature student. If you want to evaluate TTPD you can't put it in a pile with other pop music, if you do it comes up short, so a lot of people are not digging it. You need to contrast it works by TS Elliot, William Blake and Watt Whitman. She isn't quite in that league, yet, remarkably Dr Swift can hold her own against Bukowski, but she doesn't have the same experiences and perspective, but she is a master of her craft. Her lyrics aren't one dimensional, they come at you from many different directions at once.
Oooh, I’m subscribing to your channel. The 3 albums you mentioned are also my favorites this year!! I can never decide which one I want to listen to so I made a playlist with all 3. 😂 Do you listen to Zayn? Also super excited to hear his project this week!
Hiii you just popped up on my recommended and I’m so happy y’all did! Love this and the way you shared your story, you’re so easy to listen to 😍 subscribed and followed on Spotify hehe
Thank you for being so candid, open and vulnerable, with this world. The impact of your honesty and words runs way deeper than you can imagine. :') I resonate with this to an abnormally large extent and while that may not be ideal, I think the whole pressure of having to look a certain way and have that clear skin was the key to being confident for me; and somewhere along the way while following up with that whole idea, I lost the sense of what it is to be like as a confident person. The one thing I went through differently was that people at school realised that I was wearing makeup, and shamed me for it, so I never reached that point where I was satisfied with how I looked, with or without makeup, the shaming that I took very personally never left in either situation. I am now in a relationship where I confessed to doing those absurd things to cover up my skin, and I feel like this great big burden has been relieved of me while being loved for how I look naturally, which a lot of people may have also showered me with along the way, but I was just not able to see beyond the idea of having clear skin. I wish we knew better at that time, but I am so glad I'm here listening to how that has changed for us today, sitting in my bare skin. Once again, thank you for wanting to share this, I hope we build a world where we have many more years of sheer confidence and love to give ourselves and our future generations.
