I'm currently binging this guide specifically for the weapons/equipment I've settled on, and I must say that these are VERY good! Incredibly concise and informative! It's honestly a relief to hear the same things from you that I picked up on while playing, and there's also plenty of info here that I DIDN'T know, too. It confirms to me that I'm on the right track, and it helps me to further refine my build and playstyle. Thank you!
Decided to delve into DS2 again recently, and I managed to get the Greatsword from Vengarl's head and reinforce it to +3 before fighting any bosses. A second one to dropped before I made it to the gutter, and I'm *very* tempted to try and work my way to power stancing them
None of the Miyazaki games have done the Longsword justice like DS2 did. An absolutely phenomenal weapon. The only actual problem the Longsword has is that I believe the two handed R2 has its hitbox disappear a few frames earlier than it should so there will be times you throw out the R2 when you're a tiny bit too far only for it to whiff at times.
Swordsman starting with two weapons would have been perfect to show off the Power Stance mechanic but the Scimitar's 16 Dex is way too high. Leveling Dex up to 24 is realistic for many Dex focused players but I think lowring the Dex requirement to 12 would have been better for people to either stumble upon Power Stance early or for people who just want a solid Power Stance combo asap.
Hi. I reinstalled ds2 today. Found your videos while looking for some interesting weapons. I appreciate that they are about specific weapon type and not just another "top 10 op weapons" etc.
Anyway, best great hammer in Dark Souls II is large club. Light, best moveset and +8 can be obtained in any amount using bonfire ascetics without killing boss every time. Best non upgraded greathammer is Demon's Greathammer. Can be used by twink build to clean any DLC using twohanded R2.
Another thing to note when using these greathammers is the pancake move can lose a lot of durability on a hit. In testing I was losing up to 5 durability a hit which was quite devastating.
I do no why but from my experience playing demon's soul and dark souls character class with level 1 is safe because easy to leveling & manage your status later
overall best dagger is manikin knife. good moveset of ordinary dagger, durable, mediocre for backsab/riposte and good if infused - do not loose base dmg much. And 150 counter.
Thanks so much for your help. I returned to Skyrim after a long time and now I want to complete the game on one save without dying on legendary level and survival mode. I'm almost ready and your help will be very useful.
Coming across it in 2024. Just finished normal ds2 and playing SotfS and wanted to play int sorcerer. I guess staff of wisdom is the way to go since I will go very heavy int.
Maybe for the early game, but after you get to the Dragon Aerie you can have as many of both of those as you want by burning bonfire aesetics there (the loop refunds the aesetic you used to respawn the crystal lizards)
Appreciate these vids. Just started playing fs games. Beat sekiro and demon souls, now I'm on the dark souls, but not many videos out on ds2 weapons/builds
hey man, I enjoy your videos, the skyrim ones are usless to me as I played it for thousands of hours and already know it all but your darksouls 2 guides have been the biggest help to me on my ds2 journey, please keep up the good work you make amazing helpfull content
I recently came back to ds2 after many years, i'm currently trying the "no dying no bonfire" challenge, so i am quite happy to hear that the twin dragon great shield is a good option because it has always been my favorite shield. Great video.
Good vid, a few things, Dawnbreaker - the quest can make you RICH especially early game, the corpses are just loaded with gold. Another bonus at least in the base game is a glitch where using the fus shout or a fire spell on the stand dawnbreaker is in can cause a duplicate to fly out onto the ground. Dual wield dawnbreakers! Ebony blade - For a niche build, essentially a “leech” playstyle where you heal more than opponents can deal to you. I feel this was the intention behind the weapon. The only way to replicate infinite 30 point health drain is with 100% destruction reduction enchants across armor pieces. Dai katana design is also pretty cool. Ebony mail - The enchant can turn brawls into criminal acts lol. Also kills slaughterfish while swimming. In the base game ancient knowledge perk does the opposite, buffing all armors except dwarven. Dwarven is still really good in a modded game w/ unofficial patch tho. Mehrune’s razor - Two notable enemies it can proc on are the magic wisps from winterhold college quest that are the only enemies that scale with the player and can be annoyingly tanky at high levels, and the ebony warrior which can just shortcut his fight. Oghma Infinium - Drop it from your inventory after use to keep it. Unofficial patch may prevent this. Ring of Namira - Good for vampires under the sun penalty. Guards comment on your “bad breath” Ring of Hircine - Werewolves are op and this ring saves them, if you quick swap to one of the solstheim werewolf rings before transforming you gain their bonus. Skull of Corruption - The most misunderstood daedric artifact. It can rapid-fire aoe spells like a magic machine gun. Only problems are the spells are practically invisible and require regular “dream feeding” and soul gems. Guard barracks and faction quarters can have a lot of sleeping people. Spellbreaker - The best shield in the base game. Only shield from high smithing and enchant with warlock’s ring comes close. Orchendor is the only npc in the game 100% immune to magic and teleports, which makes him an invaluable dead thall. Volendrung - In oblivion the enchantment had paralysis, imagine what we could’ve had. Wabbajack - Hm? Do you mind? I’m busy doing the fishstick, it’s a very delicate state of mind.
