Hey, I'm Tom! I'm an athlete and nature and people lover obsessed with promoting outdoor exposure to create healthier people and a healthier planet.
I love making modern environmentalism accessible to everyone (you don't have to chain yourself to a bulldozer) and believe it all starts with playing outdoors and feeling good! I have become an expert in finding motivation in the toughest situations and believe strongly that absolutely anyone can do absolutely anything - a powerful way to feel!
I am a sponsored athlete with SALOMON, LeBent, SMITH Optics and Single O and work Mon-Fri as Head of Operations & Experience at ocean cleanup group Seabin fighting to turn the tap off on plastic pollution in our waterways.
It's my life's work to help others find the tools they need to have a powerful life while doing what they can to make the planet a little bit better everyday and have fun while doing it!
Damn Tom so sorry to hear this. Have been dealt some tough cards recently. Fingers crossed you can get to the bottom of what’s happening. Sounds like you’ve assembled a crack team for it. Sending love from Melb ❤
Thank you 🙏🏾 your video was awesome as I am mid 40’s kinda recently stepping up from massive walks to running as well and have pain in the big toe foot joint bits. Your info helped understand it. The final few minutes of your video is great and inspirational and helpful to me and I’m sure many others 😁🤘🏿
@@JohnboyFoz awesome man! Dont take my advice as professional though and get your toe checked if you feel you need to. We’re all unique, even our ouchies and it’s such a great way to learn about yourself. Awesome comment man and stoked you have started running!
@@bonniebrady9876 so good! Thank you for teaching me the ins and outs of the interwebs. Hey everyone if you ever want to post something on IG, send an email or maybe work from home just send Bonnie a message and ask her if you can use some of the internet because she has it all.
@@kendricklamar3956 thanks man! I actually tried my usual size and ended up sizing down! Have never done that before and all other SALOMON athletes use their normal size I just felt I needed to. Very happy with the size I went for and as they are a short distance shoe going a size down worked for me. I always size up in all my other shoes for longer races/ runs. So they are true to size is the short answer haha.
@@dominikseljan3043 hey! I just measured my foot and I’m exactly the same. I usually wear a size UK12.5 in ALL SALOMON but for this shoe I ended up going a full size down. Reason is that for my short distance, fast, race shoes I don’t need the extra room like I do in my longer distance ones. Toes are definitely slightly more crowded in the toe box but makes you feel very much in control of your foot placement in these shoes. Hope that helps!
@@benhamilton1922 thanks man! Yeh they are SO good! See the video description gown the bottom for a cheeky discount code if you are keen on any SMITHS!
Did some quick boi math and this comment was made before vlog was viewed. I very much rate this behaviour because it means when you watch the vlog you can make another comment. Love you.
Best comment ever! Yeh like I said in the video techy shoe reviews ain't me. I give my thoughts on them but yeh it's more about BLASTING! Thanks for the comment man and glad you enjoyed.
Hey! I haven't noticed but also think foam is the least important part of a trail shoe. For me it's all about grip, longevity and stability. Also comfort which I know the foam plays a part in but in terms of foam for performance it's not a big one for me on the trails. Hope you liked the clip though!
@@tombatrouney 100% the most important goal for humanity brother, together as a global community! Personally, now I have three kids, this feels as important as it ever has 🙏🏼
@@danprice6341 1000000%. I’m really hoping to show people that it’s about every person doing what they can, when they can and how I approach motivating myself/ others and caring for the planet. We gotta do it for the groms!
Love yours team! You are SAVING THE WORLD by running a small biz all about getting people outdoors. Thank you and appreciate the support over the years.
Thanks! Yeh, I mean we know luck is a thing but you also have to acknowledge your years of doing very hard things to steer life where you hope it can go. Me too!
Ahh hey man great to hear from you! Thanks so much for turning up and shooting the story. So appreciated. I remember you were doing your first marathon or ultra maybe the next day? How did it go????
Thanks Geoff, sometimes no matter how scared or doubtful you are it just takes an action to make you commit! Once it's an action it becomes a physical 'thing' and all of your defensive feelings kind of sit in the background. Appreciate the comment and hope you liked the film.
