The best-worst RU-vid channel you've NEVER heard of and the official final say in film discourse. Biweekly "comedic" movie reviews, some short films and comedy sketches!
I wonder if I start running now I could make it to the other side of the country by June 28th! Anyway the premise sounds awesome and kind of like Hoodwinked!
Thank you Mason! So far we have only been accepted to the one, but we're certain that going to one festival will land us the multi-million dollar movie deal that we are hoping for.
Yup! only took four years to make. We are considering self distribution, but it really depends on what ends up happening with the festival(s). Ideally we can trick someone into giving us some money so we can make the next one, but you never know with these things.
Think they made it years ago or have been working on it for years because everyone knows Brian has been dead for 3 years now after he tried to be one up Cool Hand Luke by eating 4, 000 fried eggs in a row in Shanghai
This is, unfortunately, the correct answer. Death Perception was filmed just a couple months before Brian’s deadly egg incident. This movie is a time capsule of what could have been, had he not flown too close to the sun.
We actually hired out for this. Despite all being editors we wanted a new set of eyes and someone who really knew what they were doing, so a super talented trailer editor named Yvan Galermo is responsible for making the movie look this good.
21:28 I think a great example of a filmmaker who created characters not from personal life but from observing life and human behavior is Yasujirō Ozu. This is because the subject matter in much of his work seems like it could only be tackled by someone much older than he actually was, and he never married.
Are you guys thinking of doing another 'react to viewer films' at any point in the future? I just recently discovered your channel (thanks to your blessed/cursed connection with Ralph) and really vibe with your style of comedy, more casual filmmaking discussions, and honest friendship. I've been studying film for the last few years and have now made a few films that I'm actually somewhat happy with, unlike most all my school projects. I'd love to hear your thoughts, see your reactions!
We are! If you email UncleMikkiProductions@gmail.com with your short we will eventually get to it! The only caveat is that we are very slowly making our way through the shorts we have to react to because there have been more than we ever expected. But we have promised to watch every short that gets sent to us
@@UncleMikki Well I'll be watching all of them that release so I'm more than happy to wait! Thank you so much, this is such a beautiful art form and I love how open many people are to allowing their work to be discussed and criticized.
This movie is unimpressive. I don't find anything funny about it. I think Neil has finally become self aware as this looks like he didn't even try. EVERYTHING is JPEG and green screen Twisted Pair was better
That Dark Past song segment alone earned you a new subscriber. :D It's weird how Snyder doesn't seem to even care about this version. He was contracted to make a PG-13 movie but it seems like he doesn't care about it, only about his R-rated cut and this is just an afterthought that allows him to make it. But I don't know how adding an hour to each movie could make them better, they are already stretched beyond belief.
Thank you! That was kind of an experiment. I wanted a montage song, but thought that something custom would be funny. Wrote the lyrics and used an AI music generator and thought the result was even funnier than I expected. The directors cut for this movie is such a joke. The PG13 cut just feels like a movie that was supposed to be R that they just forgot to add the digital blood in. Also, thank you for checking out our video! -Alec
From everything ive seen and heard of this dumpster fire, it seems like something Tommy Wiseau might do with a huge budget. Unnamed bearded mans death was Snyders attempt to remake Tsuteys death in the original Avatar. But Cameron is a legit filmmaker
Hey. Alien vs Predator is a better movie than this. The first Resident Evil is a lot better movie than Sucker Punch. Resident Evil Extinction was so much better than Army of The Dead.
You have pushed me over the fence, Paul WS Anderson is just a better director than Zack Snyder XD I actually think I like Event Horizon (which itself is a pretty flawed movie) more than any Snyder movie. -Alec (the guy on the left)
Maybe Rebel Moon will be used in film school on what not to do. With that said I became a Snyder fan after 300 but the problem is he never moved on from that constant stylistic slomo, he kind of invented it something new at the time, it worked for 300 beyond that idk. Rebel story structure definitely needed a lot of rewrites but man it’s a head scratcher what’s going on with Zack. This is a case of some executive influence probably would’ve helped make it better. I get his need for full artistic control but It’s all about balance between maker and studio heads in the end.
Well we are babies in this video, and definitely suck at what we’re trying to do. As far as takes on Rogue One go though I will stand by Rogue One being overrated trash that SW fans defend because it is “badassh”. It’s a movie that was bad when I first watched it in 2016 and has gotten worse every time I’ve watched it since.
@@TheWarBird01 We are pretty stubborn, and refuse to let poor video performance and lack of general interest in our content put us off from making videos. We are filmmakers first and foremost so we continue to make videos like these as easy side content that we have fun doing together.
Zach Snyder is a hack. He has been praised as a great visual director, but he was only the actual cinematic director for Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead, and they look like hot garbage. Every 'good' movie that Snyder has ever made was good because it was written by someone else.
Zack Snyder has been missing a lot. My wife and I are in no way fans of his work. But we enjoyed Sucker Punch. It just worked for us. Even Snyder isnt that big of a fan of it. But we liked it.
It’s a movie I am very curious to go back to. We saw it when it came out in theaters, and as mentioned in the video Kevin was a defender of it for the longest time. I am very curious to see how it fares against Snyders recent original works
@@UncleMikki I'd revisit it. My wife and I watched it for the first time a year or so ago and were pretty shocked at how much we liked it. We liked the story and messaging I guess. But I think maybe the movie just doesn't click with a lot of people and there's flaws that maybe we overlooked because of the stuff we liked. Dunno.
Ugh.. these idiots.. Snyder doesn't NEED to be stopped, just ignored. Just because you don't like eating sh*t, doesn't mean you should stop every other idiot from trying it if they want to. Nobody needs your useless policing that achieves nothing. The dude is at least doing something and getting paid for his sh*t, unlike nobodies complaining like hundreds of other (doing the same useless idiocy for clout) that add nothing but pointless noise.

Making a parody movie of this Zack Snyder would be more interesting than the real movie itself. Spaceballs. But it’s much more funny and entertaining than the real movie itself
That is actually one of the more interesting things about this movie to me. It is so on-the-nose that it almost feels like a satire of itself. Like with the Dark Past scene, there are so many moments that feel like they are jokes just missing a punchline.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Snyder was arrested one day for fraud or money laundering. He flushed 160 million down the toilet, received the lowest ratings and at the same time declared that he did not intend to stop. He wants to film another 2 or 4 parts of this nonsense with the unfortunate Sofia, who is still considered an aspiring actress in Hollywood and is therefore ready to grab any role. Besides, this poor Algerian lamb can be paid minimal fees, and she won't dare protest for the sake of her career...
Part One I half watched over the holidays and it was somehow one of the most boring films I had ever watched... so have ZERO interest in giving Part Two a single second of my limited life time.
There are many movies I only finish watching because we have already decided we are going to do a video on them. This was one of them. If we weren’t making jokes and having a good time together while watching these movies, I never would have made it. -Alec
@@UncleMikki also highly agree on Snyder going from one of the mediums strongest visualists working to just absolute garbage with his 0.95 lenses…. JFC.
I’m gonna argue Paul Anderson was copying the later Matrix movies with slow motion fighting in big drops of rain. People did EFFECTIVELY use slo-mo before Zack.
That is fair, I agree the Matrix is definitely more to blame for slo-mo in the 2000’s than Zack Snyder. I stand by my sentiment that Zack Snyder was at one point much closer to being a trend setter and with each passing year since the 2010 has just become a director on the same level of Paul WS Anderson
@@UncleMikki Yea, as an early fan of Zack, it has been awful watching him make no strides in maturing and changing his style. He’s like Wes Anderson of over-the-top films with terribly told stories.
I personally believe Zack Snyder is a good example of failing upwards through his career! Literally stealing all the hype from Paul W.S! Also imho please reconfigure your scoring. It is more beneficial for me as a watcher to know that a shit movie that you hate is not an 8! I mean it comes a bit insincere.
The best part of this movie is that you can chop it up in a million pieces put it to your favorite songs and make your own high quality music videos. Glass half full kinda guy
lol right! wtf is a 10/10? Dude has no idea what a scale on the subject you’re taking about should work. 8/10 😂. If he is saying RM2 is better than RM1 give it a 1.5. 😂
