I did this on a Pontiac block a while back, freeze the sleeves first and use a block of wood with a dead blow hammer and they literally slide right in.
@DrMMHMD Hey i googled "chevy lifter valley gasket," and I couldnt find anything! so weird! But guess what happens when you search for "chevy intake gasket"... my knowledge is confirmed, as well as your stupidity an ignorance. RU-vid Troll.
@DrMMHMD Im a student? news to me. Pretty sure I've been a mechanic for 10 years. and real mechanics first use a center punch to give the surface texture, and then use silicone on your beloved "lifter valley gasket. Only rookies that want a leak actually use that rubber gasket. Just keep talking, keep proving you have NO IDEA what you are talking about. Let me know when you find a listing for a lifter valley gasket on a small block chevy.
@DrMMHMD And if you must know, the reason they didn't look familiar to me, is because in the 60 years of small block chevys, they only had those holes for roughly the first 5-10 years of production. But I am sure you already knew that, since you are obviously so knowledgeable. Cant wait to tell me friends at work about you and your "lifter valley gaskets." We'll all have a laugh at your ignorance and stupidity =)
@DrMMHMD The lifter valley gasket? lol your an idiot. Do you know anything about engines or are you just some troll that runs around youtube? An intake manifold gasket is a 4 piece set. On a small block chevy, there is no such thing as a "lifter valley gasket." Look it up idiot. Even though most mechanics throw out the blackl rubber gaskets that cover the surface I am referring too and use beads of silicone instead.
@DrMMHMD wow youre good! that is the "cylinder block"! 2 cookies for you! well poot, on the "cylinder block" of a small block chevy, as you so intelligently put it, there are 2 planes. The cylinder head plane, and the intake manifold plane. To describe the area in question, I pointed out it is the surface that comes in contact with the intake manifold gasket. Hence the wording, "intake gasket surface." The surface... that comes in contact... with the intake gasket
