Thanks for the show Andrew! Rad Rob is a great host and a good sport. I tune in most Wednesday evenings and look forward to what guest is on or none at all. Just chatting with the guys is pretty cool. ❤ 🎳
Hi Brad! Glad you enjoyed what he had to say! I just reached out to double-check on the coaching, and he said he does not do one-on-one lessons because it creates a conflict of interest with the training center. I’m sure there are plenty of options for coaching if you contact Del at the training center though!
@BowlingWithTheFef that would be awesome. I'm an old fart..older than JJ 😜 however I have 2 sons--one extremely good, the other 220+ but lacks an 800(798) More for him. Where is the center located and how far is it from Miami? I have a week-long training session and filling extra time is always challenging.
Thank you both so much for the kind words!! Wish I could have caught it live, but I wasn't going to miss the chance to hear more from and about Julia, and was pleasantly surprised to have a cameo and hear some flattering comments!
BCAW/WI HSBC was fortunate to have JB at our 2020 HS State Championships thanks to STORM. She was very good with our players & their families. She is very good for bowling.
Going to miss seeing Trae (and family) at all the youth events, and he's been a great influence and friend for Rush. Super excited to watch his career from this point going forward. Great interview!
Got to meet Duce last weekend at Foxx View mixed trios event, great ambassador for bowling and veterans! My dad served in the army as an infantry man and paratrooper - he often craved a tomato & onion sandwich!
@@WilliamWelch This is awesome! Glad you two got to meet. Big respect to your dad for his service. Bowling definitely needs more Duces, just like it needs more Wills! 💪
Love Robert Smith. Of all the bowlers I've ever seen, he's the one I would love to just hang with, have a few beers, and bowl a little three game doubles tournament with.
What a great inspiration. Having gone through some of the same challenges myself I can't imagine trying to bowl while getting treatment. The people involved in bowling are some of the best folks you could be around. Thanks for sharing his journey and keep up the good work!
Since 2021, and the conversion from free fall to strings in Green Lake (WI) . . . I've been saying this will be the move of the future to keep bowling sustainable . . . especially once USBC set specs and issued their certification. (And yes, I always felt USBC would find a way to certified them!) I'm happy the Hoehnen's took the first step here for certified string pin setters. CONGRATS on being progressive.
If it means that Centers can continue to survive, so be it. I know if my local center went to strings it would likely be an improvement because they are really struggling with breakdowns.
Not neccessarily for all countries. Here in the Philippines, we don't have Bowling Centers declining and all of them are still running Free Fall Pinsetters, including 6 newly opened centers. So ironic when my country is poor but Bowling can survive much easier while a developed country like the US is struggling to keep centers alive.
I went to test this out at Foxview. Tom Clarke was checking it out while I was there. After bowling five games, I'll say it felt like real bowling, BUT when I watched it at home( I videoed it), the pin reaction just looked deadish compared to free fall. No messengers, no pin left spinning on the deck. They just mostly kind of flop over. So I think league bowlers will be OK with it, but it definitely does not add excitement to the viewer/fan. In short, I will bowl on them IF that's all that's left, but I won't watch on tv. Yes, formerly, I said I would quit the game, strings are not my preference, but they're good enough to feel like real bowling. I will say the pins are ready quicker between shots and have much fewer malfunctions and no dead wood.
i will say i was a very big hater of string pins having only ever used the recreational kind, but after watching this video my opinion has definitely changed a bit. Im still not a fan of the light hit reactions but at the same time if you hit light you should adjust. ill have to take a trip to lehigh lanes the next time i visit my brother and actually test them out
In most states I been to ..bowling centers are closed down due to lack of interest. Maybe you can do a video exploring this but from what I see now..even in Canada very few leagues are existing. Kids especially are addicted to their phones.. Maybe as a suggestion you can tie this into the drastic lack of top professionals in baseball basketball golf etc being from the USA. God bless🙏
Next time you speak with Hutch ask him he ever bowled with or against Patty Costello of Scranton? There are 2 professional bowlers with same name. Thanks
