We had 2 feet of snow the following week which all melted:) More for us this Wednesday and Thursday too. I did get out there but didn't take a video. I was able to make a path in low gear but rear tires spinning and couldn't steer well in the deep snow, once i made a path was able to ride around in a oval which was still fun.
I see people do some really nice looking cafe racer builds on mopedarmy and put lower bars on them. To me i just like to keep it somewhat stock :) Its pretty hilly here so just go around the block and that's pretty much it.
Could be me but the engine doesn't sound as powerful as the Honda, but its seems just as nimble if not faster. Does the vibration cause the mirror to become lose or does that happen over time?
I just threw the mirror on quick for the ride. I think i didnt tighten the mirror down too much and came lose when i tried adjusting it by hand. It has new crank seals, piston, rings, and gaskets and does a consistent 30mph
@@ScooterwolfsMotovlog yes there is a small community that upgrades them. Looks like big expansion chambers, 80cc, large carbs and switch them to sprocket chain and gear rather then the little roller that spins the tire. See some turn them into escooters as well
Hi Vinny, yes I do and its lots of fun... It needs a couple things and really need to get a fan, and shroud assembly for it. I seen some locally but almost as much as I got the moped for. :)
How does yours just start like that? Did you mod it to do that? The oem honda express you have to kick the kickstarter to wind it up then squeeze the left break
Hello Joe, Its all stock except a MLM dellorto 15:15 carb and adapter. The 2 speed engine for 81 and up is kickstart (no spring) the prior versions with white cover (1 speed varient) has the kickstart spring from 1980 to 70s expresses. I have seen people do kickstart conversions on the earlier spring models once the springs breaks.
@@Putt-Putt-Vroom I have a 78 express and and a 1980 express 2. Both mint and factory. All for mine you have to kick it to wind it up then squeeze the left break. Not a fan of that dirtbike style kick starter on the mopeds. The wind up chain kick starter adds more character and is better
1985 technology, yet oh so modern. I love it! I want one! Pure nostalgia, & was made 2yrs after I was born! 😍🥰❤ PS Thanks 4 cleaning off the GoPro….it made the video much more enjoyable when you can clearly see the road! 😆🤙🏾
Hi Ranger, You have the best ch250 video out there and always motivated me to get out there and enjoy it :) I think you need to make a Honda Helix camping road trip video next and come to the Adirondacks in NY next summer.
Hi Miguel, I think we talked before on express facebook groups and I am subscribed to your channel. I was checking the videos out again today and also like the mini bike one. Tons of fun :)
@@Putt-Putt-Vroom i think I’ll put out possibly one more video of my Honda na50, being that it’s done there won’t be much more content on it. But soon I might have a small series on my minibike as well, thanks for watching and subscribing to the channel please ride safe out there.
Thank you Rogue, I need to explore more and still newish to the area. But the roads up here are amazing. I did see a helix under a tarp last week when i was riding and had to triple beep :)
Can you make more videos on these bikes how to diagnose electrical problems? Also when adding 2 cycle oil do you fill till it says level inside tank or till the yellow ball is under on line on the side?
Its kind of impossible to made a generic video for any possible electrical problem but its all in the honda express owners manual. Diagrams of all the wiring paths, ohms etc... good to have a multimeter they are very cheap from harbor freight or amazon. from my experience if somethings not working its always just cleaning the contacts like in the switchings, no spark is coil or cdi for this bike, others its always points. I switched mine to premix but when it was oil injected i used yamahlube and filled it to the top. The yellow ball is to show you when its low and needs more.
Seems to be plenty of area up front that Honda could have mounted some kind of windshield . Guess the idea was to market it more for commuting and city rides.
Many came with a windshield which is super rare to find. Slipstreamer also makes one which is too expensive. It was the first highway capable maxi scooter.
That’s a sweet 81, you have CDI, auto choke and it sounds like a 2 speed model too? If so you’re a lucky guy. I have a sweet 79 na50 nothing too crazy but I love it, you can check it out on my channel. Oh yeah just noticed the 2 speed, you are a lucky guy.😮
Thank you and yes I lucked out and got it for $300 but needed some work. They are a lot of fun. I just checked out yours and is very nice. Looks like you take great care of it.
@@Putt-Putt-Vroomdefinitely take good care of it, I've had multiple offers but it's hard to get rid of it. Maybe if the right offer comes along I might move it on, I also haves mega moto 212 pro on the channel and thanks for watching.
Hi Nelda, Thank you for letting me know. We are in Lake George NY about 15 hours east of you so a bit far and have no more room :) You should keep it and have fun riding.
Hi Tony, Its oil injected and when i checked the pump was working. But I do occasionally put in some 50:1 just in case. Been trying to fix a gasleak as well. Float or needle seems to keep getting stuck even after I clean it well. Seems to randomly start leaking every 5 rides or so. Everything looks clean and also clean out the needle seat with qtip and drill. I think it maybe because its a cheapy clone carb that came on the bike.
Yeah I just left it in 5. I dont really see a need for 9. I usually will leave it in PAS 1 or 2 when riding then switch between gears 5 6 7 depending on hill size but mainly leave it in 6/7 when pedaling. If I'm on busier roads will use 5 to get off the road quicker.
The speed is all from down hill and pedaling :) it does about 32-35 on flat ground with pedaling. We moved to Queensbury NY which is next to Lake George a little over 4 years ago. We came from Yonkers NY where we lived prior for many years. I grew up in Northern NJ and wife from Staten island so very happy with living up here but winters are a bit tougher.
@@Putt-Putt-Vroom Mt Vernon here but moved to FL. Looking for a potential 2nd summer home up in your area now actually. Where would you say are the nicer areas with the lowest crime?
Nice I lived in Mt Vernon on gramatan and then new rochelle for a couple years. All depends crime/drugs are every where but its lower then the national average up here in warren county ny. The more expensive towns are bolton landing, saratoga springs, clifton park. Seems like in queensbury and lake george have real estate companies buying up all the land taking down old businesses and putting condos/apartments up everywhere which is what we wanted to get away from and seen how it changes towns. There are many acres of forest being taken down for all these little communities of the same houses which takes away the country/woods feel
Hello BJJ and BS. So far I'm still enjoying the bike a lot and its a blast. Im around 250lbs and mostly use pedal assist 1-2 when riding so still get a nice workout. If im on a busy road ill use PAS5 till i get back on the bike trail. So far no issues just a little bit of brake squeak and I did about 200miles so far.
Thanks Kevin and its a nice trip. Its tough for me on a normal bike and doesn't look that hilly in the videos but it is. There are a couple other trails here too I would like to checkout but this one is right down the block from me. Its crazy all these trails connect now Warren County Bike trail to Glens Falls Feeder Canal which connects to the empire state trail. The the empire state trail splits 3 ways and goes to Canada, Buffalo, Albany and NYC. One of the longest bike trails in the country. I tried the Canada route and the battery almost didn't make it back only about 30 miles but was all uphill on the way back.
Much slower at the moment and im still trouble shooting some issues. I think it supposed to go 28mph stock and only doing a little over 20mph and can't figure it out 4 stroking bad. Think maybe something to do with timing, reeds or carb which has all replacement stock jets and didn't fix the issue, kepler is much quicker with everything especially hills. The kepler is like double the size too
Hey Kevin, The accessory bar is Yizhet Bike Handlebar Extended. I got the 25cm carbon tube version a.co/d/c4cvNGs The extra light was just a wallmart Blackburn 300 Lumen Premium Bicycle Light Set I borrowed from my mountain bike for night riding which helps alot :)
@@Putt-Putt-Vroom very nice.. Yeah I want a bar for sure. Maybe a 1,000 to 2,000 lumen light I can find that is rechargeable and good for 2 hours. I also want to put a multi function rechargeable light on the back rack somewhere.. Something that flashes maybe
Hear the motor and tires humming.. Now, some people complain these tires are loud.. Some want to change to quieter tires. This video is what my tires and motor sound like. Very little tire noise. Motor whine yes.. Tires loud? No. Just a small amount of humming. I don't know what people are yapping about with these on and off road tires. Maybe they never had a bike with any off road capability and thought these ebikes are supposed to be silent? I suggest a 350 watt street commuter if you want quiet. 😁👍 Nice ride.
They make a little noise but I think they sound much louder on the gopro then they do in person (and I have the windsock on my gopro which muffles wind noise). I barely hear the tires but I do hear the motor slightly but not loud at all. I feel like many people dont hear me or the little bell and seem to scare alot of people. Its hard to hear with wind in your face and ears. I have my tires at 27psi not sure if that helps over 30psi but think it wouldn't make much of a difference.
Thanks Bruce and wished i could have kept going. It was very scenic and enjoyed goes from the old industrial part to country/farms in the middle of nowhere. I probably saw over a thousand turtles, every log was full of them in the canal. The canal locks were pretty cool too. I wanted to keep going but this was my first time on this trail and did not want to run out of battery. It was mostly uphill on the way back too :) I was heading north which was the Canadian way. I looked it up online and the empire state trail separates 3 ways from my location which is pretty cool. It goes west to buffalo ny, south to albany & nyc then north heads to canada.
Hi Smokey, so far I'm still loving the kepler and recommend it. I only took 5 rides about 20miles each time and have close to 100miles now and charged it 2 times. I live in a very hilly area too and 250lbs but use pedal assist mostly. So best bang for the buck. Of course i wanted a xclass or grizzly with addon 8000w motor, moly cells and new controller in dream land but im happy with my choice of the kepler :) My only gripe is it makes it difficult to go back to my old pedal bikes.
