I don't make these to teach people that don't know electronics how to. A lot of my videos are boring examples of which wire goes where. Stuff I or other techs might need to reference.
Working with electricity is dangerous, don't do it unless you are trained.
good morning sir thanks to share vedio nice your explanation, ihave questions to my power amplifier qsc plx3002 done replace regulator and rgvt transistor and ir 0121, sg3525an and i check the power supply section is no shorted and the output transistor ic all okey no shorted the primary power supply turn on good supply but not secondary not comes supply sir , how to determine problem thanks
Hey hello just found your video, i have a similar problem my alto ts412 signal/limit light is constantally on and no audio signal is connceted to the speaker , i have tried turning it on and off but immediately its on the led signal light comes up. What should i do ?your response will be highly appreciated
Can you help? I have a bx8a with a 15 amp fuse. The problem is the power cables here in the UK are all 13 amp. Can I still use the 13amp cables without over heating? Unfortunately I no longer own the original cable that came with the speaker.
Hi Clint, I have an active pa speaker, which I've repaired as a hobbyist. Although it now powers up and no longer blows fets, the tweeter runs for about a minute and then clicks and turns to a low volume hiss. Have you come across this issue at all, I've can't isolate what's causing it
try it with a diff tweeter. If it still does this then it sounds like its going into protect and youre back to square one. might need someone with schematics to fix it.
These speakers are for PA Microphones or Guitars, etc. passive inputs. They are not for inputs from active amps with large peak to peak voltages etc. The protection zener diodes and inductors are designed to protect the impedance matching circuit from active peak to peak inputs. Using wire links is madness... unless you are savvy and only use passive devices as above which these speakers are designed for. RS COMPONENTS supply replacement components. You need to understand this circuit as no schematic is avaliable. A bit of reverse engineering is required to work out which zeners and inductors to buy.
Most people use a mixer to drive these. They're low cost powered speakers. Most people just want it to work till they get around to replace it. Havent had one come back yet.
@clintronicsrva Fair play. No criticism of you, just stating never a good idea to bypass safety components. I Am an electronics tech. My brother in law had these inputs blown up by people that did use a mixer but they turned up the input to these speaker to high......
I know this is an old video. I can’t find help anywhere. My 1/4” Jack is totally busted. Anyone know the part number or could you just use anyone! My monitor is almost unusable. I have to use tie wire and duct tape to hold the cable just right. But it sounds terrible
Can someone tell me whats the R5 value is for orange crush 25bx main board?…I have the same problem with the capacitors but R5 was also damaged in the positive output to the horn.
Many of them have PC board damage due to the filter caps shorting and leaking and catching fire. And often times, the control hybrids are blown up (little boards standing up near the heatsink) and those are no longer available from QSC. If you want to support these amps...and they're great amps, to be sure...then buy up examples that have one bad channel and you'll always be able to use them as parts sources for others. Replace the capacitors with long life 105C types and there's no need to go with higher value caps than the originals. You don't need to boost voltage or capacitance ratings.
These amps are junk!!! I've been a technician for over 40 years an a professional touring drummer!! We have 4 of these boat anchors!! I've had to repair 3 out of the 4 this last one I fixed the shorted channel ran great on a Variac at 110 volts ac!! But when I plugged in to main power it blew q96/97d78/79 an the 2 ten ohm surface mount resistors!! This is after i installed the power supply restoration kit!! The schematic I have has no voltages except for the 16 an 5 volt checks what's the best way to check this pile of crack to make sure it's safe to power up ??? I've got crown amps I've had for 20 years 0 trouble!! A pro amps should be able to handle the rigurs of touring etc!! I don't trust these!! Everything checks help!!!!
I just replaced all the same parts on a plx 3602 it ran fine on my Variac but when I plugged it into straight power q96/97 exploded an r358/359 an d78/79 opened?? I'm a tech of 38 years experience
Would like to thank clintronic for your help I fixed 2 other amps for the same custr just typical shorted drivers! Strange the problem amp ran for several hours on my Variac at 110 volts ac! An 0 DC offset an great audio wish I could find a good used board LoL I'm thinking of getting the house keeping kit.thanks again
Hello, I have a QSC K10 that powered on, the blue light comes on, but no input signal, green signal lights from both inputs don't come on. Can you help me out? can I send the input board to you for repair?
