For some reason I have an association with old Japanese games, where there is either a safe room, some kind of safe zone or a peaceful place, mysterious, but calm. And this interesting feeling is like nostalgia because you've never been there, but it was peaceful and good.
I think I get what you mean. Like you're caught in some nightmare scenario, but at least that one little spot you're in just now is "safe"? "Serenity" and "Typewriter" from RE4, and the save themes from SH2&3 come to mind immediately for me. Fatal Frame has some good ones too, esp the menu music in The Tormented that plays on the Continue screen.
The visual and the music makes me think of what it must feel like when you're elderly and your spouse, your best friend, has recently died. Just watching the rain, the static on the television is about as entertaining as anything else you could watch on it now that you don't have that special person to share it with. Shoutout to all the elderly folks living alone, they are often forgotten members of society and it must be so tough to want to carry on each day. I bet they have wonderful stories to tell.

Nothing will ever be better. That's what I tell myself. Outside, it's dark, and raining, just the way I like it. Good. It's approriate to how I feel every day. Rain and darkness. But why am I like this? I've been through a lot, I can't take it anymore, I am at my limit. I am pushed beyond the edge. But aren't we all? You are not alone in your struggle. Your struggle might be unique in what ways it has manifested, but you are not alone. All of us who are here, we've been pushed beyond the edge, we live in rain and darkness. But some of us strive upward. Towards light, and potential happiness. It might be just a dream, sure, but is it better to just live every day the same, or dream of a better tomorrow and strive towards it? I know you are feeling down. Down isnt even enough of a word to describe it. You feel like shit. You feel like everything you do, the world is against you, everyone is against you, nothing you do is enough. But you are not alone. You might feel that way, sure. But everyone who comes to listen to these songs, they feel the same way. Just look at the view and comment count. All of those people feel the same way that you do. So you are definitely not alone. We are not alone. I wish nothing but the best for you, please, try to find atleast something positive to look forward to, and make it your objective. We are all here, we are here for you, we are here for him, for her, for us, for all of us. If even one of us makes it out, we have succeeded. You are not alone. Happiness has to be fought for.

The walls around you are cracked, their paint peeling away like memories fading into oblivion. Snow begins to fall, a quiet blanket of indifference. The fog grows thicker, swallowing the remnants of your town. Snow-covered posts emerge from the mist, offering a fleeting glimpse of what once was, a ghost of the past. You cry out for help, your voice lost in the void. No one answers. Not a single soul stirs. You scream again, desperate for any sign of life, but there is nothing. Only silence. Only emptiness.
I dont know why but i fear losing my mother so much, texts like that would narc me off so much as a high schooler but now i dont know what id do if i didnt get the occasional wellness check from her. Mom in Cry of Fear hits me so hard, you know she was all Simon really had and I feel that
The Shattered Memories is my favorite Silent Hill game. I only loved 1-3 ones and this one felt so similar to them yet so different. It had the best from OG games and embodied a new type of gameplay and approaching the player. Having your entire personality analyzed just by playing the game on PSP was insane. And you know what's more insane? It literally described me in the end of the game. I felt like I was losing my mind for a while.
Awesome, rare to find another Shattered Memories enjoyed. I love this one for similar reasons but the thing that really stuck with me was while I was playing and I had neared the end I made a joke to myself saying that during the therapy session I was probably going to walk through the door and interrupt it. Blew my fucking mind when it happened. It really hit me, the whole twist and tragic ending easily made it one of my favorites.
I miss my childhood 😢 i was happy there. I dont want to be here much longer it hurts. My biggest wish was to find love to find her, only to find out that love is a lie a fantasy
